The Obama administration has ordered all medical-marijuana dispensaries in California to shut down within 45 days or they will be prosecuted and have their property confiscated for violating federal drugs laws, the Associated Press reports.

Even licensed outlets operating under the 1996 voter-approved medical-marijuana law are subject to the federal crackdown. California's four U.S. attorneys plan an announcement Friday.

AP says the federal prosecutors have notified at least 16 pot shops or their landlords.

Im sick of Obama, there's a reason his approval ratings are below 30%, get him out of the oval office, at this point I could confidently say that McCain could have done far more for this country.
 
considering i go to one right across the street HE CAN GO FUCK HIMSELF. i seriously thought he was gonna be the one to legalize it completely.

The Us world image has improved soooo much because we elected hime. granted McCain probly would have had more successful legislation etc but we would have maintained the view that we are Uninformed White supremicists. I was indifferent to Obama before, but this is ridiculous. How could he possibly pretend to care about jobs when he is going to forcibly put at least 16 more people out of work?

Not to mention, the federal government has no constitutional grounds for regulating marijuana in the first place. (If you think this was the original intent of the commerce clause, you're an idiot).
 
What does this mean for the other states involved in medical marijuana. I believe there are 16 including my home of colorado, it's not just california.
 
Also i am somewhat libertarian in the sense that I think all drugs should be legal. Its peoples decidion to fuck themselves up if they do meth or whatever. Just a faster progession of natural selection
 
I would be alright with people fucking themselves up if they could pay for their own financial burden on society. Granted there is less of this with marijuana use. There are plenty of pot heads that function very well.
 
im pretty sure it wasnt obama that decided this.... it wouldve had to go through congress. ya'llz need to learn da constitution. legislative branch proposed laws. executive enforces them

large paper companies cant adapt to start using hemp as well? wouldnt that just be a way to make their products cheaper and better? sounds like a reason why they would want it legalized
 
that would have to be done by somebody either way if they wanted to use hemp. its unlikely that new mega corporations are going to start up exclusively for hemp products because as soon as they try the larger companies will by them out, the way it always works with new things. somebody would have to pay for new paper mills, and its not likely to be some nobody with no money, and a lot more likely to be a large corporation which has the money to make the paper mills.
 
This cant be real. They have colleges in California dedicated to the growth + sale of medical marijuana. This would fuck California anally and their economy is already fragile as fuck. Obama wouldnt do that shit.

thats insane. is he trying to raise the crime rate and cost taxpayers more money to put more people in prison? and california is broke as fuck already, this cant help their situation.
 
The federal government has never approved or turned a blind eye to californias medical program go figure the Obama administration now sees it as yet another source of "untapped revenue". How does it feel to see the democratic parties isachiable requirement of more credit, and extra cash to spend to maintain their over spending turned around on the very communities that for some reason believed he was on their side hahaha.
 
Edit... I forgot the crucial example for what I said was that the IRS just hit another dispensary with a 3.5m tax lean

ITT: californians getting mad they have to start buying from a dealer. IMO med marijuana is a joke except for those undergoing chemotherapy. Just make it legal, or don't.
 
Colorado will be next but you guys are lower profile because it's. Newer scene and not as publicized on TV The real question is will the state governments bow to the government or stand up for the laws they created
 
The government must be trolling and pushing people as hard as possible in both directions to grow the libertarian party.

anyway, the whole thing is stupid, people shouldnt have to argue medicinal uses for marijuana for it to be legal, things are not illegal by default, made legal if it can be shown that there are good enough reasons. things are legal by default, and are made illegal if it can be shown that there are good reasons why it needs to be banned. people are stunningly out of touch with any critical thinking regarding marijuana sometimes..
 
perhaps the fact that the entire medical dispensary system is a joke and the vast majority of patients just like to get high. also the fact that under the federal government it is illegal.

BTW anyone who is blaming Obama is a fucking retard. Just because he's president doesn't mean he makes the sole decision on this. It was congress, his admin., and the supreme court so chill out.

how many people on here have a legitimate need for medicinal marijuana?

I would support a real need but it has become abused.

on another note, as a business person why would you publicly create a business doing something illegal? and as a lender why would you lend the money to start one of these companies?
