Mecca considers banning Women

Well, with women not being able to complete one of the pillars of Islam, it means no women in heaven, which in turn means no 72 virgins for suicide bombers.

I guess the other issue is that it is now impossible to say that only a small portion of the islamic world is fundamentalist. They are banning women from the most universal sight in their religion, it isn't a small portion after all.

Do not make assumptions that I know nothing about Islam. I have read books about the religion and its history, spoken with Muslims about the religion, and also done extensive research on the Templars and the Crusades as a whole. As far as the koran, everything can be translated, maybe not word for word, but to express the meaning behind it. Even Muslims themselves do not deny this passage to be in the koran and the accuracy of its translation.

Algebra and world maps were not invented through the koran. They were invented under the Muslim enlightenment, which happened before it did in Europe, mainly because of the chaos brought about after the fall of the Roman Empire. During this time the Muslims were more advanced and also had a better quality of life than their European counterparts. However, that is irrelevant to where the Muslims are now. The Muslims have progressed very little since the time of the enlightenment. I cannot understand it, the only explanation that I can think of is they wish to remain permanently in that time period under which they were most succesful. 1000 A.D. to about 1300 A.D. 700 years of regression cannot be excused, especially in the modern world we live in.

You are one of the atheist scumbags who defend Islam to try to downplay on Christianity. I could care less if you want to be atheist but you are like those liberal scum who defend Islam, defend the prisoners at Gitmo, and who call on America not to blame Islamic fascism for 9/11 but instead look at how we caused it by "offending" them, I'd say you should end the sad life you lead right now. Hell, just for this statement alone you should end your life.

Our leaders are elected democratically, our women are not hiding themselves under bedsheets, we fight for peace and not for fanaticism, we have freedom, we do not live under the constant fear of being killed by suicide bombers because we belong to the wrong religion, we strive for progression and advances in technology not the suppression of the free mind, we are not subject to hearing prayer calls 5 times a day on loudspeakers throughout our cities, we find ways to enjoy life rather than ways to destroy it.

Everyone should watch a full scene of decapitation done by the Muslims to their Western hostages, not just the short clips of them they show you on the news. While the victims plead and scream for mercy they slowly decapitate them with a small knife trying to cause as much pain as possible. If you can watch through that and still deny that Islam is flawed you deserve the death the islamic fascists would be willing to give you.

To end my statement, I never want to read or hear Islam being called a religion of peace. From its very beginning Islam was spread by the sword. Christianity was accepted by the free thinkers of the world such as it was in Greece and in Rome during the early years of the Christian faith. No one was put to the sword for not accepting the faith but rather put to the sword for accepting the faith. Islam cannot be compared to it, Muhamad found a way to exploit the Jewish and Christian faiths to form Islam in order to unify the people of the desert and to spread violence and bloodshed. Muhamad himself was never an advocate for peace among individuals but rather spent the latter part of his life subduing the people of Arabia who were opposed to his religion.

I agree with pretty much all your points except this...

1)he did a shitty job at navigating 'cause they sure as hell didnt end up where they wanted.

2)if i gave you a map in cantonese would you be able to read it? im sure if columbus had a map in spanish he could have done it, he was just too lazy to get it translated.
 
Nostalgia is not the reason for little progression. It's due to the way Islam itself is structured. Islam is structured as a strict societal code that inadvertently limits progress. Progression will never happen in the Middle East as long is religion comes first. For a culture and society to develop further, economy and politics must be valued at a higher level than religious doctrine.

I am by no means saying religion should be absent. In fact, I despise atheists; they are largely apathetic and cynical...a damn worthless combination. You can't build a society around atheism, it's simply not possible.

I am inclined to think that when your belief in religion, or lack thereof, takes the highest priority in your life...you are a threat to society as a whole because you lack the mental balance to benefit the group.
