You read whatever I said totally wrong. I was paraphrasing people that have actually lived in communist countries... Not making my own shit up, dude.

I'm not 'signing praise' of the soviet regime. There was a hundred thousand issues with it, especially if you're analyzing it with capitalist-tinted glasses. And yes, that many people in the USSR may have died via the state... under Stalin. Once 1960 rolled around, the Gulags were no longer serving as intensive labour camps.

I wouldn't have wanted to live in the USSR, but I also was brought up in America. If you're brought up under communism, and then see this crazy zerg rush into capitalism all of a sudden like what happened there, and lose everything you may have had because you didn't know how capitalism worked? or the company/bureau you worked at for the last 30 years became non-existant? of course you're going to miss the good-old-days when you had a house, and a job.
