MEADOWS OPENING ON SATURDAY!!!!

just got a e mail from meadows they sead they will have some rails and boxes in shipyard and maybe some rails in the zoo

fucking epic. snow was very good (will be a little tracked out tomorrow, but still good), nice and light. the groomers off hood express will be wrecked, those saw a lot of action and the underlying stuff will be more exposed now. everything else though was in really good condition, off the groomers there are still a lot of trees, some stumps/logs, and some rocks still poking out so watch where you are headed. very little wind today, but it was cloudy and the death fog rolled in and out all day (i would use a yellow lens if you have one, probably be the same conditions tomorrow), heard a lot of comments from people complaining they couldnt see. well duh, your platinum mirrored lens isnt designed for low light days.
anyways, i was really surprised at the crowd, much much much fewer people than i expected. i was expecting full on armageddon with massive lift lines and packed slopes. the first lift line i jumped in, hood express, did take a little bit (like 15-20 minutes or so), but after that i mainly stuck around shooting star and i never waited in a line more than 5 minutes or so. slopes werent slammed either.
they got the parks set up pretty well right now, the zoo has several boxes, and the shipyard has a lot of features to jib.
awesome day all around, i really wish i didnt have to work tomorrow so i could go up again.

the zoo had a bunch of basic boxes, most of them just flat 10-15 footers. there was a slight rainbow one, a very small (in height) up flat down. i cant really remember the shipyard, i cruised by once on my way to my car in the annex lot. i remember seeing a picnic table and some basic boxes like in the zoo. there were some rails as well, but i cant remember what they were feature wise.

Shooting Star had a lot of blower to be slayed. I was one of the first people on Star. All the knuckledraggers stalled out on the traverse or decided they wanted to fend off the frontside mongol horde. Shooting Star stayed good for a while.

really wish i was up there right now, or tomorrow. looking at the weather radar, the mountain is about to get BLASTED with snow. its trying to snow up here at OHSU right now. wouldnt be surprised if there is a little accumulation tonight.

goddamn the mountain is getting pounded right now. they're looking at another 12-16 inches through tonight and into tomorrow morning. storm totals are probably going to be around 3-4 feet in the last 4 days. im so tempted to take off work tomorrow and hit the mountain.
