WTF is up with the McDonalds Dollar Menu advertisements? If you haven't seen them, they show food, then a voice saying, 'this is how much work a (doctor/smart guy/stock broker) has to do to earn the food on the McDonalds dollar menu' then it has a 1 second clip of the person 'working'.

If you think about it, that person has to make $60/hour, which is like $124,800/year. Very very few people make that kind of money. Most doctors don't, most super smart PhD's and scientists don't. I don't know about stock brokers, but I doubt it. They should be a tad more realistic in their advertisement.

well doctors and stuff don't get an hourly wage. I'd bet that a lot of doctors and stuff make that much. Since most upper class people have nice stuff they have to pay more money. I'd believe it.

A lot of doctors work long hours, usually 60+. And also a lot of them don't necessarily get paid by the hour. A lot of the doctors who aren't in critical surgery area's get paid by the hour. These doctors also don't work nearly as many long hours. But they get megabucks on appoints such as plastic surgery and other works such as doctors that deal with specific parts of the body. These doctors can litterally see 10 patients a day and rack up thousands of dollars per day.

I haven't seen the ad though.

there are people that make that much..my best friend dad's is a really good attorney and makes 500 easy and hour i forget but its up there, and he works like never and just plays golf a lot, it has to be nice..

Hm, well last I heard the average doctor salary was in the $70K range. The ad does not mention any kind of special doctors. It just has a generic doctor putting on a rubber glove with a nervous looking guy in the background.

Dammit, I generally do ok with math, but apparetnly not last night when I posted that. So then that means thier yearly salary is $7,488,000. And that is surely more than most doctors make. I'm not really trying to make a huge deal out of it, I just think it's stupid and annoying that they didn't think about that kind of thing.

i think they are just trying to proof their point, saying it's cheap. they don't expect the views to take the COMMERCIAL so seriously.

 
smart guy isn't a job but doctor's make alot probably that much and stock brokers definitley do well i think cause my freind's dad's a stock broker and he makes a lot.
