McCain's running mate is the Alaskan Governor??!

what!? Sarah Palin, the alaskan governor, is apparently going to be McCain's running mate. I think its pretty strategic of the republicans to do this, but she stood for nothing while she was running and has no experience. You couldn't attack her or argue against her becuase she basically kept her mouth shut and never said what she specifically stood for other than the generic republican opinion. She is better than our former governor, but vice president???! I just hope people are smart enough to make sure they understand her policies and don't just vote for McCain becuase he's got a women on the ticket the same way i hope people don't just vote for Obama becuase hes black, as much as Id like to see a women as president or vice president....

this also makes the prez race in alaska a lot more heated becuase this year alaska could be a swing state (we are very very republican) and there's quite a few people upset with the republicans here becuase of Ted Stevens and Don Young, but i think people will see that an Alaskan is on the ticket and think thats more important....

i just heard the story on the morning news that it is official but I can't find any online articles about it becuase its too soon, but maybe later I'll post one.

she rooted out a ton of republican corruption, and though against gay marriage gave them employee and state benefits. seems like shes stood for something.
 
yeah shes been good for alaska and is a lot better than our former governor. Im not gonna argue that. i just think its a really smart and interesting choice for McCain to choose her becuase she is very clean, generally well liked, young, and a women....
 
ol johnny seems pretty hellbent on getting hilary's supporters to vote for him- he must not think he can win otherwise.
 
its a smart move by mccain and i am a little scared that he will attract more votes due to the fact that he has a woman on his ticket

hopefully, however people will through that and realize who she truly is
 
it has a CHANCE to be a swing state becuase everyone is upset about the Ted Stevens hiatus. historically our electoral votes have always gone to the republican candidate without any contest, but it might be close this year. 8 years ago i think we had a democratic governoR??, but the state legislature was still overwhelmingly republican.

i don't think our electoral votes will go to obama this either with or without palin...but its only 3 electoral votes...so no one ever cares anyway

I think it's kind of funny, she looks like the opposite of McCain in terms of political personality and age...

I dislike McCain and Obama pretty equally, so I'm pretty indifferent to this, but wow.....things are not looking good for Obama the past few weeks.

becuase she describes herself as "the average hockey mom" and CNBC interview with her from the time when her name was being mentioned as a potential VP and she said that she has no idea what a VP even does....
 
noone can argue that she wasn't chosen simply because she is a woman, whereas hilary made a legitimate claim to 'running as the best candidate'. i hope her supporters recognize the difference

I think she is a great choice...Both Economically and foriegn Policy...Economically she brought and 80% surplus to AK and then gave the profit back to the people... And shut up about saying she doesnt have expierence cause Obama really cant match, plus she has her experience in the executive branch... She also a huge oil reformer and thats pretty much all foreign policy is on these days..

She also has an 80% approval rating which is higher than any other political figure.... She will be the perfect President of the Senate and VP...

She's the only person on either ticket with ANY executive experience. Besides, I thought you Obama fans were all stoked on people who aren't "Washington insiders"...well, at least until you took Biden for VP.

HAHA! What? Obama has been a Senator for what...two years? Palin has been an actual governor since 2006.

So you have a senator with only two years experience running for president, and then you have a governor who has been running a state that is running with McCain as a potential VP.

Sorry, but no one needs to read MSNBC or FOX about this. All you have to do is watch 2 min worth of television.
 
does anybody know what a VP does besides shoot people in the face quail hunting? I don't think so. Not even the VP knows what a VP does.

But, this is great strategy on the republican side of things. they saw how the masses love inexperience and youth and hot women, and they went with it.

Actually the Vice President has alot of Dutys... 1st of all the vp supports the president and helps make a decesion...Second , most people dont know this but they are actually kinda of sort of in the legislative branch of gov.'t. as the President of the Senate too...So the VP has two titles...Also I thought the democrats were looking for a new whasington...well guess what she will be a 'New Washington".
 
I personally know Bristol on the right. The fam is actually pretty tight. Kind of your typical rich family but yeah.. Their dad fucking mobs on sleds and shit. It's going to be wierd with the new baby though.. I have no idea how they're going to do it.

No, she's running for president. When you're the VP pick to a 72 year old with a medical history of four separate battles with cancer, everyone needs to recognize that there is a SIGNIFICANT chance that you could end up being president very suddenly. Hopefully everyone will pay attention to her record before voting, and realize that they could be electing this woman, who apparently doesn't actually have a platform of any sort besides daydreaming about overturning Roe v. Wade and "I don't really like teh gheys but civil rights are ok with me" as the next US president.
