Yeah thats right, the astranged mayor of New Orleans, who hid in a hotel room for days after Katrina says that God told himt to create a "chocolate New Orleans". This Chocolate city would be just for the "negros" (not my words, he was just on tv). He also said that God sent Katrina to punish black people, the city of New Orleans, and the US as a whole. HAHA! So that is what you get for years and years of immoral Mardi Gras?

if memory serves me correctly, a reporter asked if his "chocolate city" was a "racial comment." his answer went something like : "do you know how they make chocolate? they take dark chocolate and add white milk to make a rich delicious milk chocolate..."
 
And he also said that God told him that New Orleans was supposed to be a "negro" city.
 
yeah, it boggles my mind the racial insensitivity that is publicly apparent in high level politics. i understand that many individuals with personal beliefs about other races that may not be "politically correct" but you would assume that they would hide the beleifs in an effort to further their political career or at least maintain the same political status they have already achieved.

He said Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and other storms were a sign that "God is mad at America" and at black communities, too, for tearing themselves apart with violence and political infighting.

He wants people to come together, find peace and to bring blacks together after they had been displaced from the city.

Nagin explained his chocolate city comment as mixing a lot blacks with whites to make something special. He’s not being “Hitler”, he's looking for diversity in his city but also wants to bring the community back to the city. l

How is less violence, and more love being an idiot?
 
In case you haven't noticed, PEOPLE use religion to advance their own agenda all the time, you can't blame it all on religion...it's peoples interpretations of it. Individual people fuck things up, its not always religion.
 
Wow you guys are completly wrong (except for that one guy). He never said that god told him anything, he said that with all of the bad things going on god must be mad at us. He also said that New Orleans will be a black majority city which it already is, so no he doesnt want to build a city out of chocalate or make it a city of only blacks.
 
i have been following this, and i know that he is black, and that he qualified his remarks, but i was simply commenting on the public perception of uninformed individuals. while what he said made sense, the use of the term "chocolate city" could be interpreted as racial by people who would only say read the headline of the news story. all im trying to say is that im suprised many political individuals let their tounge slip like that.

so today he tried to take back all the God comments. He did say that "surely God is mad" and some other things about God. So if New Orleans is a Chocolate city, is Boulder a Vanilla city?
 
Yeah i know that he said milk chocolate, but that was after he was taking all kinds of hell for the comment and he was probably told to try to save it by then saying he meant milk chocolate. Give me a freaking break. He didn't mean milk chocolate when he made the original comment.

To further prove my point, he doesn't even know what milk chocolate is. He referred to it as a "delicious drink". He was told by advisors to say milk chocolate, but he got milk chocolate confused with chocolate milk.
 
i hate this if a white person said something like a town is supposed to be white he would be labeled a racist but it is ok for a black person to say the same thing
