Maximum brake overhang?

So I'm looking into grabbing a pair of K98s soon, however my FKS brakes don't fit the ski. I have come up with two solutions, I can buy a pair of XXL brakes at 115mm of my friend at a reasonable price, or I could buy a pair of Look Pivots with the XL brake which would fit the K98 perfect, but they would be 150$

What's your opinion ns?

I would buy the pivots as they are basically the fks and the general rule of thumb is anywhere around 15 is pushing it so i would think you would get a lot of hangup.

Before we get too carried away, what's wrong with your existing brakes? If they're too small they can almost certainly be bent to fit. If they're too big that's a different kettle of fish.

my FKS brakes are 85-90mm and the K98 are 98 underfoot

If you have 90mm brakes you're talking about roughly 4mm a side. It will barely require bending, probably a slight tweak by hand on the brake arms.

I've got 115mm FKS brakes on a 132mm ski, you won't have a problem.
