Mature kids

I was just advocating for responsible weed usage. I personally can't use it responsibly (if pot is in my possession I will be puffing on the hour if not more) therefore I must refrain from usage in many circumstances.

So I was making a point that people who have a steadfast weed is wonderful point of view do a disservice to it. Everyone is different and like alcohol each of us will fall on a different part of the spectrum with regards to where use meets abuse. Even people using medicinally will likely face such issues. However, like I said it comes up smelling rosy compared directly to other vices, many people need it medicinally since it helps them more than pharmies with their ailments, and heavy users/addicts can function while using albeit at a less productive rate overall (this last part is where you disagreed and said I was just spouting personal experiences and all that crap.)

Unfortunately the guy who made the post about all the stoners he knows being complete zeros bears credence as well there are in fact reasons why non users have such a low opinion of marijuana and marijuana smokers.

Instead of saying "like I said" and continuing on, how about you show me what you said, because your quotes contradict themselves. At the same time you keep trying to make it sound like I'm saying that weed is a miracle plant that everyone should use and needs to try, and you're stupid if you haven't. If you "buy some glasses or something" and read what I posted you'd know that.

Are you talking about the 14-16 year old kid?(Just guessing) Shockingly 14 year old stoners might not be the most productive people, as if 14 year old were productive anyway, and as if anyone was advocating their usage. And at least he said "I have yet to meet a responsible one. Not saying there aren't any out there". The only people who he probably knows that smoke are people his age that are idiots, make a big deal about smoking and are just noobs at life.

From your other posts, you're saying you're much older than that. If you have a limited perspective on it that's fine, but don't put that on everyone else.

I wouldn't call that "mature," he just has different interests. When I think mature I think wise, and just because he acts like a 40 year-old doesn't mean he is mature.
 
I live in an apartment with a couple people (both 21) who sit, smoke, and play video games all day. blazing is fine, but being that lazy is immature imo, and a waste of precious life. there was a point in my life when that's all I wanted to do, but then I grew up (barely)
 
I'm 17 and I smoke a lot of weed to deal with all the shitheads in my school. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna do some morning BR's.
 
there is a time and a place for maturity, work or around the ladys parents but for the most part fuck that and enjoy like.
 
Maturity has nothing to do with it IMO, some kids that age will try to find all these intellectual pursuits for the ego boost, and so they can try to hold it over you. That's not maturity, that's insecurity. But some people actually like to play chess, read books, discuss philosophy/politics/whatever more than "hooligan activities". I relish the opportunity to have a chat about philosophy or whatever because most people my age don't seem to be interested, its a rare opportunity. But I'm still down to get baked and play Xbox. Some people live their lives differently than you, deal with it.

OP why don't you make a deal with him, you'll play a couple games of chess with him if he'll smoke a bowl with you.
 
For sure man. There's def that wanting to be mature/accepted trait in a lot of the kids that are super duper mature. I agree that it has a lot to do with insecurity in many of them. This gay teen forum I used to frequent had a ton of it on there. It was excepted as the norm. Shocking considering most of the kids were insecure.

I'm totally cool with people being whatever, but I think it's a lot cooler when it's real. Unless my neighbor is an axe murder at heart, I'd hope they decide to fake being a nice person instead.
 
Should we really be making generalizations of people? It is safe to make the assertion that one who cares about the actions of the stranger reflects much of oneself. Though I would still like to refine that statement and examine how one responds to the actions of a stranger.

Strong statements, like "You should stop ___(eating, smoking, drinking, cutting, etc).", can be despicable if one brings light to the subject when it is tangent to the original conversation. That can tell us a lot about the person making those statements; low self-esteem, immaturity, or what have you. When one is genuine and exhibits empathy, statements towards a stranger can be warranted.

There a lot of great communities on the internet dedicated for helping people who make poor decisions and wish to turn there life around. A lot of the people on these websites are abusing the service because they have low self esteem or are immature, but some people are truly empathetic. I wish we could look more at the individual before categorically dismissing them. I am not a fan of broad elementary statements because they can be easily mistaken for an axiom.

Just my thoughts, I'm open to any insight you may have
 
There is a broad range of acting mature. And I for one act mature when I am around adults I know. I do not act like a 40 year old, I act nicely and act my age. I have seen kids that act like they are 40 or so around adults and I have gotten the feeling that they think they are better than you because they are talking with the adults about polotics the whole time, since they are to sophisticated to talk to me or people their age, its snobby. I will act 40 when I turn 50, fuck growing up to fast.
 
I am in a unique situation since I left college after a few years to work and then went back. I always felt a disconnect between a lot of the other students and myself in terms of maturity. However there was still enough that I had in common with them that it was not socially awkward.

Was actually somewhat disappointed. Being used to those epic comeback sports movies was really pulling for you on round 3.
