Axis needs to come back. If financial issues were the cause of the shut down freeze tanking left a huge gap left in the market the triumphant return of axis would be welcomed with open arms. The mag was amazing even with its lack of support in the past, I think with heavily increased circulation that it could reach a new level never expected in the past. I know at least 20 other people in my town that bought every issue. Bring it back and take your place as the new premiere freeskiing magazine. Can i get a fuck yeah from my people??

 
the fired people from freeze should team up with Levinthal and Newschoolers and create a Mag called the Newschoolers Bible

Il put in some money like 10$ with alot of NS people doing that a new mag will have some of the start up money to get working.

 
Axis was a great magazine, awe inspiring photography, truly artistic and thought out layout, thoughtful articles, and overall just well put together. A great 'soul' rag.

I love(d) Axis.

It's gonna take more than that chief. That would be sick though. Especially now that all the money kids would spend on Freeze could now go towards Axis. Freeze getting the axe is good and bad. The market is too small to have too much competition. At least this gives the people who ran Axis some hope. Subscriptions would be more expensive but it'd be worth it. That's the price we have to pay to be involved in a niche market.

Epiphany, if you knew where i lived 20 people in my town would sound huge. Huntington BEach california is the most snowboarder prone beach town on the planet. 20 skiers reading the mag here means 10 fold that in snowier areas.

 
Hell yeah bring it back, its a sick mga and the sport is growing alittle bit so im sure more people will buy subscriptions hopefully....

i hated that magazine. it was so god damn small. no content. if they could make it full then it would be sick.

the axis mag was short but the best one, true content, nice pictures, ns.com in it.

The only thing that was needed was a longer version of it but even there axis was the shit

yeah it was an amazing magazine. un-relatedly matt levinthal went to my high school and his dad ran the ski club a few years ago.......

 
lets do it, i'll pitch. whatever it takes, but we need a fucking mag. freeskier is leaving much to be desired lately, although it is still a great mag.

but with freeze gone, we need something

 
yeah i'd throw a little money to support axis coming back. and definitely subscribe for whatever price it was.

I just don't understand how in a sport that is growing like crazy two of it's premier mags have gotten the ax in less than 6 months. It doesn't manke sense. I know eventually another magazine will rise up to take there places but when. We're basically down to Freeskier and Powder. I like both mags but they don't quite capture freeskiing as it is. Powder has great writing and photography but it's not really focused on freeskiing. And Freeskier is cool but the have no content what so ever. You can burn through an entire issue in 15 minutes. What we need is the quality of Powder with the focus on Axis.

^hey that's 3 mags. You forgot 2freeski, but it's from Europe so a lot of people never got it. I got the last issue of it and it had very good content(some stuff from mick desh) and some awesome photos that you didn't see in american mags. It was totally different, but at the price of $7 a ag here in the US, it must have been hard to get people to read it.

 
dude I was looking at my old axis mags and recalling good times the other day and then I look at the newschoolers thing and there I am. I was like 'what the shit is going on here?' Crazy stuff. But yeah we need a new mag. maybe an axis freeze combo. like Fraxis

Axis was run by Powder, which is owned by Prime Media. Another gigantor publishing company, no different than Time, the owner of Transworld Media.

 
Like I said, we harsh need a pulp skiing mag. A black and white deal printed on newspaper quality paper... DIY zine type deal. I'm thinking of starting something of the sort in Whistler, but that's the easy part, thinking about it.

only a year after being aquired by transworld, freeze was deep-sixed. they never should've agreed to the transworld deal.

the sport doesn't not have enough pros to have enough content in axis. the thing that made axis special was they showed stuff that wasn't in any other mag, they showed the more artistic side of the ski industry, the had a lifestyle photo section how sick is that...i think next season or the season after that is when things will really pick up...with ninthward and 4frnt and liberty coming up more pros are going to start popping up and there will be content coming in. Thats when axis will be able to survive.

 
axis can survive now, freeskier still survives and it sucks. Axis kicks the shit out of freeskier and with more hungry readers now, they could slay it

 
i could never understand why they sent like 20 copies to the chapters in my town (kamloops) and then shit loads more to gas stations and supermarkets, there are like maybe 4 people in kamloops who would buy it
