Just makin this thread b/c if you dont know him, or havent listened to any of his music, he is really worth checkin out. Saw him in concert and he just kills it. Its like a Bob Marley and a jewish rapper combined. What more could you want?
 
Shit, Matisyahu was all over MTV a year or two ago. He was the featured artist on the Xbox Live Marketplace a while back too. He's decent but I feel like I only was interested in him because he was an orthodox jew a and dressed "funny" compared to how other rapper/reggae artists dress.
 
I saw him in concert in Cleveland when he opened for 311!!! Me and my

friends were 2nd row having a great time and he was just watching us go

crazy the entire time he was singing. Then when he started to beat

box(most amazing thing ever(you have to hear it live)) he jumped on the

huge speakers and was dancing, also amazing. Best concert ever and since that day he

has become my hero!!

i mean read this thread. first post is about him being a jewish rapper. sweet, second post: about a song Jerusalem.  great.  and then more posts upping hasidic reggae.  yeah, reggae about struggle and human rights and smoking weed is just as good as wearing the same clothes as your brother, not doing shit on the weekend, and refusing to eat pork, or dairy with meat.

if this cat did not dress like a hasid, he would not be nearly as popular as he is, and you all know that.

right, because like asian, and white, and black, jew is a race.  WRONG! in fact i love jews.  my friends are jews.  i live in a city full of jews.  i used to live in a town full of jews.  not liking matisyahu does not equate to being a racist.  Matisyahu and Jewish are not races
 
another good reggae song by matisyahu which is less popular is "chop em down" - jerusalem and close my eyes are dope too tho
