this is probably really simple but i can't figure it out....i'm in 10th grade.
A sector of a circle has perimeter 12 cm and area 8 sq cm. Find all possible radii. I figured out that 2cm works but i just guessed. and it says all possible radii. i love you no homo. i'll check this thread tomorrow morning. thanks NS!

if you set the formulas to equal the same thing, such as pi, you can set those equal to eachother and solve for r using factoring or the quadratic formula

Remember, the SECTOR has perimeter 12. So 2R+ R(theta)=12 and 1/2 (r^2) (theta) = 8. Two equations, two variables, if I feel like spending the time figuring it out I'll post later.

ooohhhh, sectorokay well then i don't feel like spending the time to figure that out, i'm busy enough doing gay ass logarithms

lol wow i love how every math nerd is like "o ik this let me waste my time and help this kid"

your a smart man for whoever posted this, your probably like "ill make losers do it and ill go screw my bitch" lmfao

Yes, because plugging two quick equations into my calculator and finding the intersections, which takes about 5 seconds, is wasting my time. I know, instead of helping other people, lets just make fun of everyone who does! The people in New Orleans didn't need any help after Katrina, they just wanted to screw their bitches.

quite correct sir, somebody at school showed me the way to show my work for that (longish process) and i'd like to thank those who made a valiant effort on this thread. i couldn't up anyone's karma because y'all had already been at 10. sorry
