Material Used for Boxes

What is the plastic material used on the top of boxes?

For creating a box for my summer setup, would it be better to get this material or use something like PVC pipe?
 
definitely go with a big green pvc pipe instead of a box. Much more fun, much easier to find, no construction needed.
 
boxes are made of hdpe

definitely get a large diameter pipe though, surface swaps are fun on toobs

I have a nice 10 inch in diameter pipe that's really fun and easy to learn new tricks on, if u can get your hands on anything bigger then 10 inch than that would be so much fun.

If you were to make a box get atleast 1/3 thick which is much more expensive. I honestly made a 1 inch box with 7 2INCH pvc pipes that works just fine. I don't really use it ever in summer but will a bit more in winter. Honestly if you are fairly decent don't build a box. If you are learning swaps and such then make it. I woukd take the pvc route. If you want I can send you pics on how I built it
 
as its been said HDPE is stupid expensive. When we were building features at the hill I worked at, it was around $200 for a 4'x8'x1/4" sheet. If you're going to use it, don't go any thinner than 1/4" or else you'll have problems with the material cracking.

construction sites, the big green ones are expensive so you can either buy one, steal one, or ask the construction workers if they have any broken ones

The green ones are the best! If there aren't any construction sites around you you could try a pipe store i got an 8 inch one for like $50. Theyre so much fun though def go with a tube
 
I didn't use hdpe on my boxes. Instead I just laid Formica(like kitchen countertop) and used steel coping instead. Actually works really well!
 
I'll probably just find a large diameter pipe from Home Depot and use that.

There are no construction sites near me and I heard the big green pipes are extremely expensive.
