ok maybe i'm just not cool enough or i dont have the right hookups... but Line advertised the masters afterparty as some big sick thing... but

1. you had to have a special wristband to get in

2. even if you had a wristband if you weren't 21 there was no chance. The bouncer was an ass hole

He wouldnt let TJ in until someone high up in the ranks came out and vouched for him.

He wouldnt let Dumont in period. Dumont said it best: "the guy can take his fat goatee and shove it up his ass"

i was disappointed to say the least
 
They wouldn't let michael olenick, sammy carlson, bibby, any of the young gun team, or simon dumont in. I was there from the time it started to almost when it ended hanging around, going to random parties in random rooms in the hotel. It was fucking lame. I had the fucking wrist bands too... anyone could get them if you signed up for them before... I was on course shooting all day with a media pass... I could have gotten free beers when I got free lunch.

What the fuck is the point of having a party when half of the people that competed couldn't get in? Everyone there was an asshole.

I know how you feel man, I was so pissed off.
 
Hmmm people under 21 didnt get into a bar? waah im gonna go cry cause im not old enough to drink but think i should be in there because i have a bracelet, waaah. If your under 21 get over it...
 
harsh reality kiddos... the bar probably wasn't willing to risk a multi thousand dollar fine and a chance losing their liquor liscence. And i wish simon would have been like "do you know who the fuck i am?" The door man probably would have been like "no, and i don't give a fuck who you are. You are one guy who is famous in a very little sport."
 
just cuz u killed it at the masters, doesn't mean you get to drink when your under 21....does seem a little ridiculous though
 
it is not "gay", it is the way it works. hmmmm, ever think that the ski industry adults (yes, the ones who own the companies/manage the teams/put on the contests might want to have a party without a bunch of suburban thugs running around acting like jackasses??? That is what these parties are for, the people behind the scenes. Sure there are athletes there but the majority of the party goers are the people who matter in this industry. Oh yeah, as 3-plank mentioned...maybe these bars aren't interested in losing a liquor license because they served alcohol to a 17 year old punk.
 
I agree...sucks for the athletes that couldn't get in...but to much for the bar to lose if they get caught. IDEA..... maybe they should have planned the party somewhere else besides a bar......?
 
yeah but i've been in that bar before without an ID which is what pissed me off. I think you're supposed to be able to get in if you're over 18 until 11 or something so it was really gay. the guy at the door just made up some lame story on how the wristbands mean you can drink so everyone has to be 21. i see the point about losing the liquor license but whats the point of having a 21 and over party when half of the athletes it's for are under 21??

2. i completely understand the risk of losing a liquor license and agree with you there. but why make it 21 and over in the first place. and you usually dont have to be 21 to get into that place before 11 like i said in my last post.

3. yeah its for the guys behind the scene too definitely. but just as much as it's for the athletes. its like if all the athletes were 21 (hypothetically) and all the guys behind the scene were young and they couldnt get in. that would be just as gay.
 
what really gets me is that the afterparty is designed for PEOPLE THAT ARENT EVEN COMPETING!! its rediculous. i go to after partys for comps like vto and stuff and only 21 and older can get in which means the only people in are like paretns and people setting up the event. its stupid, the party should be made for the riders who worked hard
 
well if people wouldn't have been gay last year and tried to get rid of the under 21 marks on thier hands then 18 year olds could have been in this year but that is why.
 
oh i see. well thats gay that those guys had to ruin it for this year. hopefully they can figure something out for next year to make it work. the masters was still sick
 
yaa they def should have made it 18+. i dont see the problem with that. there are plenty of clubs that are 18+. and alot more people would have gone/ would ahve been able to go if it was 18+
 
well if anybody responsible for planning it next year happens to read this, make it 18+ next year. as for underage drinking... you're smart i'm sure theres a way.
 
no bar in mammoth is gonna let 18+ in. even if they did, the cops would be all over that shit. lakanuki is so hard on that shit because there are usually 2 cop cars parked outside the entrance watching every drunkard come out at closing time.

way to be man, i'm SURE the people who work behind the scenes don't put in any effort at all...

I mean cmon, contests would certainly operate perfectly without their assistance.
