Mas OS X - Leopard

that "spaces" thing is so tight. it's like having 4 monitors, but only being able to see one at a time

the core animation thing is going to be the coolest thing ever. not really useful, but cool as hell.

for once something windows already had before mac! maybe... XP powertools. I used to use it a lot but then it got old and now I only use one desktop as usual.

Ok, got a few questions.

I'm a Windows user looking to switch, I'll be getting a Macbook for school this fall, and I really want Leopard, but I don't want to wait until Oct. to get my computer, and I'm worried if I get Leopard right when it comes out, it might have some bugs (i.e. - Vista).

How is Apple about having things all together at launch time? Any history of having an OS have issues? Also, if anyone works in a Mac store or has experience with them, what are the odds, if I go in there this summer and go all out on a Macbook, that they'll hook me up with a free upgrade to Leopard when it comes out?

oh apple and their planned obsolescense

free upgrade probably won't happen.

i have a powerbook g4, still running on panther 10.3.9

i bought it feb 05

tiger was released 2 months after

no upgradey

i'm not sure if they've improved on the macbook, but my bro got one last summer and it has TERRIBLE speakers.

and yadda yadda yadda external speakers blah blah blah. dont' care enough to buy them.

im not going to get it right away. i have tiger and its fine, so ill just wait till i get a new comp and get whatevers on it

spaces is decent

on my mac i use virtue desktop which is the exact same thing except avaliable for tiger. it gets anoying and if you havee that many apps running in 4 different desktops best hope you have more than a gig of ram

I use it a lot for programming work. I'll have all my programming shit on one desktop and all my web browser / IM shit on another. Its helpful cause it keeps 50 IM windows from cluttering up my homework. I'm excited for spaces because its going to be integrated into the operating system so it won't be as buggy as current solutions and it will work so much better.

Yeah it's gonna be October, was supposed to be released in June, but the iPhone laucnch took up a lot of the programming resources, so they pushed it back a little.

no not true at all apple have never been pressured by microsoft to release any product. but new ipod nanos on sept 5th

new video ipods?? if you are right i am the happiest person on earth. i've had my ipod for 4 years watiing for this one to come out
