MARY O'NEIL DOESNT SUPPORT GAY MARIAGE

Whether or not it's natural is a terrible argument for or against gay marriage. Rape is natural; that doesn't mean it should be legal. Chemotherapy is unnatural; that doesn't mean it should be illegal.
 
I think its weird that people allow something that isn't harming them to upset them so much. Like, is it really so much of an issue if two women want to get married to each other, or if I guy walks down the street wearing a dress? Is it harming you?You should be embarrassed with yourself if you're ignorant enough to believe that you have any right to dictate other people's lives. Live and let live.
 
don't get me wrong. I dislike gay people as well. I just think you should do your research before you say that other animals don't have gay sex.
 
Dolphins, Dogs, Lions, Monkeys, Giraffes, Sheep, Flies, Ducks, Penguins all have documented evidence of homosexual behaviour.

Can you please do some research next time?

The gay marriage issue isn't even about gay marriage. It's about conservatives trying to stick it to the liberals, and liberals trying to stick it to the conservatives. Liberals try to say it's about freedom and equality, but they don't give a shit about equality. If they did, they'd be fighting equally hard for incestuous and polygamous marriage. Nor do they give a shit about freedom. If they did, they'd be fighting tooth and nail for drug legalization. The conservative arguments are equally unconvincing. They try to say it goes against God and the Bible. Haven't they ever heard of the separation of church and state? Also, they try to say it hurts the children. All evidence says that isn't true at all; children of gay parents do just as well, if not better, on average than children of straight parents.

Both sides really just care about hurting the other. It makes sense, too. Why should conservatives care who marries who? The answer is they don't. And why should the majority heterosexual liberal population care whether or not gays get a couple trivial legal rights? They don't either; they just want to beat the Republicans.

In conclusion, I hate you all. Fight for a real cause.
 
Based on this thread you should be more concerned with the straight people, because they are the ones that are arguing with you.

Honestly, as a heterosexual male, I love it when gay guys hit on me and I get to flirt back. Flirting with gay guys is much more fun than flirting with girls.

That being said, I think it's hilarious when closet homophobes are like "yeah, guys, I promise I like gay people, I just don't like when I have to, you know, SEE them, like, in public and stuff."
 
I go to Provincetown every year during July for a month because that's where my dad's boss lives during the summer, so my dad (since he's a pilot) lives out there, too. We get to stay with my dad at the house his boss rents out for him and his copilot.

There are a ton of annoying ass gay guys flaunting their shit on the streets nightly, but there are also a ton of very nice, well-spoken, level-headed, intelligent people there as well. It's kind of like you've only seen one part of it.
 
I really don't mind straight people when they're mellow and don't show it. But the second a see a straight guy acting like a he-man, i have a problem. Its soooo annoying. I have a summer house on the Jersey Shore and sometimes we go to Atlantic city. Wayyyyy to many straight people...

What I'm getting at is who cares if they dress like a girl, its their choice and doesn't harm you. They shouldn't have to change their lifestyle based on what might offend you. You don't do it for them. And if they do choose to hit on you and be creepy? Then turn them down and say no thanks. And if you can't do that, take some advice from any girl ever.
 
marriage equality is not a liberal idea, just as racial equality wasn't a conservative one in the 1960's. Now correct me if i'm wrong on this, but conservative = less government, less limitations on personal freedom, and staying out of people's lives. Wouldn't it be "conservative" to say its not the government's place to stop gay marriage? Or as a conservative do you support a more powerful government

Also, fuck all of you, as it was stated before, people were vehemently against interracial marriage. Now, to most people, it seems silly that that was even an issue.

Same thing for gay marriage. Who gives 2 shits? Get out of your bronze age beliefs people, and realize that this is 2013... People are equal now...
 
so only republican's have strong moral's and only liberals have more modern beliefs? Personally i don't really care about gay marriage, but i don't think its our governments place to decide for us. And its not the government's job to enforce morals based only on religion. Just like they can't take my 10 guage, they shouldn't be allowed to take a marriage license.

So it's "Cruel" that I have the OPINION that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a women???? That's cruel? What's cruel is when people ASSUME you must hate gay people simply because we believe in the traditional form of the word marraige. That in NO WAY means I hate on gay people!!

being a homosexual is just as natural as being a heterosexual. people dont just wake up one day and say. "hey, i think i like buttsex from now on".

also, if you believe the sanctity of marriage is tarnished by homosexuals, you should be taking your fight to stop divorce which is at a rate of >50%. much bigger problem there.
