The Mars Volta fucking rocks the casbah. I started listening to these guys about a year ago and they are stellar. The 'Televators' video is great.

they're coming out with a new album late this year or early next year. it will be called 'Frances the Mute' Also Omar, the lead singer of TMV will soon be realeasing a solo album, which is actually a soundtrack to a film that he is creating. the album will be called 'a manual dexterity'

if you guys like TMV check out At the drive in, omar and cedric of TMV used to be in this band. In my opinion ATDI is just as good or better than TMV

I personally feel Mars Volta is better than ATDI and Sparta. ATDI has too much screaming and Sparta gets a little whiny at times. Mars Volta has the sickest guitar work too.

I like TMV better than ATDI too. Recently I've been listening almost exclusively to Tool though.

Back to the subject, I read they have an album coming out in 2005. Any info on this?

At the Drive in is by FAR the best of the 3...

Mars Volta needs a kick in the ass or something because they have so much potential, but I dont think they are as good as they could be. Sparta is pretty good after listening to them for a while now.

i saw them live opening for either tool or a perfect circle (seen them both so many times i get confused). they didn't sound that good, but a couple kids i was with - whose musical opinions i usually trust - insisted that they were really good. so i listened to a them a few times, and just didn't hear what the deal was. they never did it for me. now my roomate listens to them all the time, early in the morning. at this point, if i hear that whiny little shit fuck sing the goddamn word 'exoskeletal' one more fucking time i think my head is going to explode. sorry i couldn't provide any positive feedback, but the guys voice is so annoying that i can't even hear the music underneath it
