How you market yourself in the industry is arguably (I believe its true) more important than the quality of your work. You need to be good, but how can you distinguish yourself from the millions of talented artists in our world.

Discuss.

There is a reason Chase Jarvis is the #1 commercial photographer in North America.
 
I know its long but its worth watching start to finish if you have time. It will blow your mind.
 
Haven't watch it, I will though. Jarvis also has a really good live episode dedicated to building a portfolio.Very, very informative!
