MARKERBINDINGSWARNING.COM

Hahaha I think you're taking this one to the heart a little too hard. I stopped reading after you said "which reminds me, you can carve a turn right?"

At that point you sound so offended to the point where no one wants to even hear your advice.

This. I fucking love mine. I bought them at the end of the season 2 years ago at the stores summer ski sale and they were the only boots they had in my size, so there had been no professional boot fitting going into this. Bought them on a complete whim, I guess I was just super lucky because they are super comfy. only con: The insole is thin and shitty, I'll have to replace mine soon.

right? i have griffins on my filthy riches, and they've been great the 3 days i've ridden so far. now take into consideration that i haven't been skiing hard, but i suspect they will be great.

I have 1st gen griffins and they have held up much better than my 2nd gen jesters. The jesters turned to absolute shit, play on both heel tracks and play at the pivot point on both heels. Griffins are still super tight all around.

Interesting that this has become a FT vs. Nordica (and other?) boot thread.

Isn't the first thing about boots to buy the ones that fit the best while still achieving what the skier wants out of them?

I personally am not a fan of Full Tilts; I think they're really ugly and they don't do what I am looking for in a boot: Vibram sole, tech inserts, and to be really, really light for touring. That's why I don't have FT boots; I have Dynafits.

But if people like 'em, then good for them! Who cares?

Just sort of curious how this much hate was generated.

^im sure they are fine boots if they fit. So many people buy em just to buy FT which is stupid and i hate those people for it. Same with crappy skiers and the bright orange fks 180s.

Skiing shouldnt be about trying to impress other skiers with your gear and thats all those people are doing. It should be about impressing people with your skiing

Sounds good to me. That can be applied to any product in any situation though, right?

Examples:

-I didn't have a problem with Marker binders when I was little until I blew up a couple pairs in less-than-ideal situations. Conversely I have yet to break a pair of Rossi binders in the 8 years I've skied on them. I own 4 pairs of Rossi and 0 of Marker.

-I didn't care what parts I put on my truck until the Beck-Arnley parts broke after 14 months, while the Moog and ARB have yet brake. Now I buy Moog and modify with ARB when possible.

-My experience (and everyone else's probably) with ON3P. Enough said.

I was trying to make clear that neither sounding like a bad ass intellektual nor trying to be as black as can be makes you any better... always hard to bring irony to people on the internet...

but whatever...

I agree with the guy who said skiing should impress the people not the clothes ,but what I think is the most important is that you should feel comfortable (mentally and physically) in what you're wearing and that you should have fun with doing what you love doing... stop caring so much about other people's opinions haha

@PNSkier you're making a fool of yourself... seriousely, there's a point where one must stop ^^

not really. you replaced products that failed and werent up to your standards as any sane person would do.

crappy skiers on fks 180s is totally different. It would be like if you had a big sexy truck and never used it for big sexy truck things because you dont live a big sexy truck life style.

People buy shit they dont need because other people have it and they want to fit in. thats how it relates to any situation. you just spewed out random words

I have little opinion on Full Tilts because they don't fit my foot so I don't use them.I know, crazy right? Buying boots because they fit...

Anyways, I love the shit out of my Griffons. They have yet to let me down and have been through many a situation in which I wouldn't have been surprised to see them let go.

Who gives a shit? It's about what you like, for all gear. If you like it, good for you. If you dont, you have a different foot. People have different opinions.

And for bindings, Marker does not suck. They are just a little less durable than other brands. I have STH's and I love them soooo I'll probably stick with those.

LOL PNSkier there is literally nothing bad about full tilts. obviously they may not fit one person's foot as well as they would fit someone else's, but I have a pair of 2011 full tilt classic and they slay cuddy all over the mountain! you're simply trying to be the maverick who finds the next best product from the one that is currently taking over the market. But nah, you're probably right, everybody just buys FTs because they hear about them a lot... nobody has even tried full tilts to see if they good or not... have they? FUCKING SQUARE

I love how bad I trolled this thread and got all you FT queers shitting your pants. You must get a grip children. The fact that you're getting soooooo worked up over this is just causing me an immense amount of laughter. Please keep it up

and you're hating on people regurgitating information? lol

and also, who says people still dont ski by weighting their tongues? that's a huge generalization. Sure shaped skis have changed some style, but that doesn't mean people dont weight their tongues.

i actually just traded in my ace of spades for some full tilts. Get at me fucker.

yeah not a very good boot fitter if you prefer one brand over another. each brand fits a foot and a style of skiing. Not everyone is gonna fit into a dead money nor is any one boot more "effective" as a park boot. It's 90% fit 10% preference. You like a soft boot great go soft, you like something rigid through the ankle great, but if it doesn't fit your foot correctly it means fuck all.

fit first. brand second.

and yeah I put people with low volume feet and narrow ankles in FT cause it will fit them better. And that is only if they want a three piece boot. If someone has a 98mm foot a 101 last is not going to fit them well at all which takes the dead money and ace of spades out of the running.

fit first. brand second.

Just bought superfeet, trimmed them and put them into the boot, My boot feels hella comfy now.

pretty much this, most people have never skied on marker bindings but hate on them anyway. they are some good bindings, yes they use a lot of plastic but has your 150 lbs ass ever broken a binding?

Exactly, a binding is made to hold your ski to the boot, nothing else. Can marker bindings do that? Yes. That means they do their job which is what a good product does.

That's a little oversimplified. I agree that's the function of binders, but isn't it also essential for the skier to trust that his boots will stay attached to skis with said binders? A binding that doesn't do that isn't a very good one (although it still may hold the boot to the ski).

I'm sort of playing devil's advocate, but if a skier doesn't trust their gear, then it will be very tough for them to ski as hard as they may want to.

I mentioned in an earlier post why I don't purchase Marker (CN: had 2 pairs blow up on my when I was younger). But that's me personally. I've only skied the Dukes out of the Jester/Griffon/Baron/etc. lineup, and they were adequate but not my favourite. I don't hate them and I might recommend them to someone, but I wouldn't buy them for myself. The Jesters seem like an average-to-above average binder, but I have no experience with them so I don't have an opinion. If they work for someone, then awesome!

I agree with that point, if you think your going to double eject of a switch landing (just an example) your not going to want to try any trick where you'd land switch which prevents progression.

It seems many kids on this site just like to pretend many of these malfunctions I guess you could say, have happened to them with marker bindings. From all the people that I've talked to in person that have I know have actually used marker bindings say that they've never had a problem with them (except one guy who had squires and broke 4 pairs of brakes in 2 seasons)

you're sounding like one of those hack shop kids that buys into anything a rep says because he gave you a free t-shirt...

bottom line idiot, Nordica makes a great boot, Dalbello makes a great boot, Full Tilt makes a great boot, all the suppliers make a great boot but if your foot doesn't fit it, then you're fucked.

seriously, get off the Nordica rep's dick. you sound like a moron!

Wow there is a lot of misinformation in here. I admit, I didn't read this thread at first, thinking it was about bindings, but I'm glad I checked it out. You have a tenuous grasp (at best) about ski boot mechanics and competitor/market information.

there you have it PNskier, as I previously stated, you are full of shit haha. Good job trying to send me messages though.
