i know theres tons of threads but none of them help me.

im 5'1, about 100 lbs, and hit the freeway jumps at breck alot

9s, rodeos, all that good stuff. Do you think they would be durable enough for me??

Hmm... tricky one. They're not super burly but you're barely a sparrow fart at only 100lb...I would say, having only had a tinker with them in a shop, that they're about as burly as a Griffon. So probably all good. If you're advancing fast though it could be worth going to a beefier binding, as long as you can find one that the DIN range goes low enough on. What are you skiing at currently?

px12s and the insides are all chipped from grabs. i need a lighter binding also. im progessing very fast right now and plan to hit freeway almost everyday

I kinda wanna call troll on this one... If not, I'd like to think that if you hit Freeway a lot, you'd recognize that you need a burlier binding. Go with the griffon.

no troll i just dont know anything about this binding ecxept its cheaper than griffons and less durable

please note your picture is a troll. haha. but seriously i had griffons and they are good bindings. my mountain never had jumps past 45ish feet. they held up great i never prereleased or anything like that. they are pretty light but only because they are mostly plastic keep that in mind. they should be perfect for you. go with the griffons. you'll get what you paid for.

squires are all plastic and will break. get a burlier binding. it might weigh more but it will be worth it.

the difference in weight between the griffons and the squires is really not even noticeable (1.53 vs 1.79 kg)... so if that is the only reason you would go for the squire, I would definitely say to go with the griffon. It will be more durable (since it isnt composed of as much plastic as the squire), so they can last you for a much longer time. I'm 5'6" and 120 lbs, so I was deciding between these as well, but i went for greater durability instead of the slighty lighter weight.

Hope that helps.

well obviously not the internals but most of the exterior is plastic, which makes them light but not durable

what is wrong with those looks? i don't trust marker at all after working in my local mountains shop last season. the jesters, griffons, and barons all came in broken in really stupid ways. it's just my .02 but i'm not happy with markers quality at all. with how much those bindings cost you'd think they would work a little better than they do. i'd tell you to keep riding px 12's. i'm similar height and weight as you, 5'2" and 110 pounds and ride my px12 jibs at 8. they've stood up to some pretty big drops and some 55 foot kickers. which is as big as i'll be going these days. although i will say that i've snapped the toes off a set of axial 120's (same binding different sticker) before. but i don't think any binding would have survived that crash.

i will say this tho. if you are set on marker, get the griffons. you are not heavy enough to "stress" the squires to their breaking point, but they really aren't a very durable binding. they are flat out dangerous in my opinion. with the having been said the little bit of added weight of the griffons is definitely worth the peace of mind while you ride. i know a lot of people riding these bindings that LOVE them. but i've also seen like 15 or 20 broken pairs of marker royal bindings. so it all comes down to experience. i'm not trying to down this binding, but i have not seen the quality or durability that i would expect from a binding that costs what these do.
