I'm thinking about buying Marker Squire bindings, and i've heard different things about them. I'm around 5'10 140 pounds, Could I get some opinions or recommendations please? +K for help

They are targeted towards the beginners of park/freestyle skiing. If you feel you are a beginner get these. if you are not, get griffons. you will probably be better off with griffons anyway with your weight

Hey im your exact weight and height and got them for my Halos and just had them mounted and they are actually really solid bindings and i have jesters on my Hellbents and Ar6's i would def recommend them

well i rode them on my summer setup to test them and just from feeling them they are some damn sturdy built bindings there basically made from a solid block of composite and look like they will hold up really nice

Honestly, I would just get Griffons. I have the Squires and I regret getting them. I went into the shop to get Griffons but the salesmen told me the Squires were the same binding just lighter. I went home and found out they're actually an 11 din binding but by the time I called the shop, it was too late. I've skied them a few times already and they're holding up really well. They feel a lot more solid than my old PX12s but I still wish I would have gotten the Griffons.

It's not that they suck, it's just that for a few more dollars you can get a more dependable binding. I only ski at like a 9 din so it's not that big of a deal for me but I'd rather have Griffons.

I weigh 200 pounds and I ride Marker Freerides and they are pretty fine although they will almost certainly break this season. But they have a 5 year warranty on them anyway so who cares I can just get new ones.
I do eject switch for no reason sometimes though. but its not that bad it only happens occasionally. I don't kill it super hard but I hit 35-45 foot jumps all day and occasionally hit 60 footers and drop smallish cliffs.
Griffins and Jesters are soooooooooooooo fucking expensive.

with your height and weight, you would be better of getting griffons or jesters. the squires are mainly all plastic and look like more of a low-end park binding for beginners, or someone who mainly does smaller rails and jumps. it doesnt look like they would work well for a more advanced rider or someone hitting bigger features. not to mention the din only goes up to 11 and these bindings would prolly rip out of a pair of longer, fatter, bigger skis. just be on the safe side and get a higher performance binding

you people keep saying with your height and weight get the griffons blah blah. He's 140 fucking pounds lol. You're lightweight the squire will do perfectly fine, and the guy up there that said he wishes he got the griffons even stated that they seemed pretty solid and skied well. What more could you want than a really solid binding that skis well?

alright so let me get this straight...
everyone is saying that its a solid binding, feels good, skis well, etc, and it is ridiculously light, but they would get the griffon instead? and how can the griffon "perform" better than the squire? i think i'm missing something here.

From what I can tell so far, the Squire is a solid binding. And I have them on my 189 Live Life 2's. The only reason I would get the Griffon over it is because it has been around longer (More dependable) and it's only like $30 more. It's also a 12 din binding where the Squire is an 11.

Seeing as the squire is a new binding and probably hasn't been ridden by anyone posting in this thread you've definitely got to take their advice with a grain of salt.

With that said, given that your weight is high enough to fall within the Griffon's DIN range I would suggest them over the squires. The Griffons are very light and durable enough for a smaller guy. The best part about choosing them over the squires is the simple fact you can get more use out of them as you progress and/or get bigger.

I am having the same dilema Squire vs Griffon. I weigh 158 pounds. Lots of different opinions going around though. I've even been told I'd be better of going for the M11 by a guy in one of the shops. Let me know what you end up going for.

u obviously dont know what composite is. and to whoever said they ride a 9 din is retarted and should have gotten jesters or fks.

Hey man they are GREAT bindings! Perfect for park, backcountry,or just shreding all around the mountain. I am 150pds and they work perfect for me! Probley one of the best bindins out there in my preference. I got them for my Armada AR7!!!

what skis are you putting them on? the griffon has a wider footprint than the squire does, so if you're putting them on something with a waist width of 85-90mm or up, i'd go with the griffin for the little bit of extra cash, since it'll give you more direct transmission to the edge. that was the biggest difference i noticed when skiing the jester vs. other comparable bindings from other companies. having a wider platform makes your ski more responsive when you're riding something with a wider waist.

realistically, you're probably fine on the squires. as long as your DIN isnt pushing 10 or 11, you're safe. yeah, the griffin is a little bit burlier of a binding, construction-wise, but like i said, the biggest difference i noticed was on wider skis that traditionally put a lot of torque on the binding when tipping them up on edge. the jester (same footprint as the griffon) on a wider ski felt much more responsive than the same ski with a PX12 or STH12 on it.

Thanks everyone. I might get the squires just cause i'm trying to save money. will they be good on 2010 chronics? sorry for the bump
