Marker Squire 11 must be made out of glass

Have had brand new marker squire 11s for less than a season (i was also out for a month with a wrist injury) yet these bindings have managed to break THREE TIMES. If I land switch Ill pop out almost every time. Anytime you land on the break your bindings will explode and you will see pieces of plastic all over the mountain. Why did I not buy pivots? why did I have to be such a cheap bastard this must be karma.

Squires are trash, everyone around here knows it and now you know it too. I'm sad you had to find it out this way.

It's not your fault, it's just how the binding is.

Attacks can usually be found priced as low or lower than squires and will be more durable. Were these the latest generation of squires? How big are you? Also post pics of the wasted binders please.

I had a pair of Line Chronic mounted with Squire 11 (DIN set at 10) and whenever I would try to nose butter or just nose press while switch riding, I would unlock both skis… I got pivots 15 now and even tho it’s way too much for me, I shred the gnar :>

if your not a very small girl/child, get griffon/jesters.

the 2022 version is also upgraded vs your 2021 btw

Sorry that you had to suffer the consequences of the Squire, OP... They are just not a good binding. If you want to keep your budget low, Marker Griffons are a great option. I had them on my last pair of park skis for 5 seasons, never had an issue. And I don't do anything gingerly on my skis, believe that

From all I’ve read and heard any good freestyle athlete only runs attacks or pivots.

Those are the only bindings I’ve owned and with my own anecdotal evidence pivots have been the most reliable binding I’ve ridden on.

Attacks, griffons or pivots. Used to have squires when I was younger, broke the breaks twice? exploded part of the binding. Running pivots now, zero issues.

Guu just won big air olympics on squires though, but that was a perfect silky smooth landing, lets face it, most of us are way way way shittier skiers than the girls.

I'm also probably 100lbs more. Hence no squires

I think Squires are good for regular skiers who don’t do much crazy shit.

For park and freestyle is never go outside of Pivots or Attacks, and maybe STHs.

If you're landing switch consistently, you just need a better binding. I'd upgrade to Griffons or if you want something more affordable the SPX 12 from Look isn't complete garbage

Yeah I also considered squires when i bought a new setup mid season but only heard bad about them on here and from my friends so i just got me some griffons. (i weigh around 185-190 so they would probably just explode on me.)

It really depends, Squire is a decent binding for beginners. Selling them won't probably get you enough money for Pivots but there's other good bindings too that are cheaper like Attacks

Hit a jump on my old poachers watched my right ski fall from underneath me. most scared I've ever been worst feeling ever. Squires are trash.

Yeah pivys expensive fr fr i’ll put in some extra though I got some parks skis like 90 ish underfoot do you think the forzas 14’s will be good in your professional opinion

14s are ight ive seen people throw some crazy stuff on 12s and 14s with no issues. The 15 and 18 has a lower slack height, is made of mostly all metal, and doesnt use up as much of the ski when you mount it. Ive got 15s and 18s on my flexy park setups and use attacks or griffons on the stiffer skis. Plus with attacks you have more color options

Attacks? Two screws and $40 too much to handle?

The two screws that secure the brake go into the ski, so to replace a brake on either binding properly, you'd have to remount the ski. You could of course not care about doing it properly, but then the heel piece would most likely be compromised unless you heli-coiled the holes.

You basically can only do it once before worrying about the integrity of the holes but what brakes are easier to swap?

cap. As long as you are gentle with the screwdriver and seal the holes with glue, you can replace the brakes on attacks without re mounting. If you use a drill you will most likely strip the holes. Depends on the ski as well; softer cores will strip easier.

Squire, Griffon, Jester, Warden, STH2 and SPX don't have brake screws that go into the ski and that's just a few I can think of atm.

Not saying any particular brand is better than another, just something to consider when deciding on a binding.

If you used the right sized drill bit then your screws should have created there own threads so dump some glue down the hole and make sure you re thred right and your good

I have some Axial 120s (aka SPX12s) from like 2017 or so on some skis and I absolutely loathe that they are one screw and not connected to the ski. They are constantly coming loose if I ride or crash too hard
