Been checking out the new Marker Jester Bindings. Apparently the new toe piece is suppose to be pretty dope. I didn't know if anybody heard anything. search bar'd it, nothing came up.
 
Marker is definately one of my least favorite companies in the freeski scene for many reasons. I don't really trust them when it comes to bindings especially
 
Looks like it's built to be super duper lightweight. Bushfield was on them all summer in Whis and he was ripping pretty hard some days, looked like they were keeping his skis attached.

They are also making a new touring binding that in some ways looks similar to the jester, apparently it will have a 14 din, sounds pretty sweet.... a touring binding that will actually work for serious skiing, could it be true?
 
The design looks great, but i don't know many people that have great luck with marker bindings, they could have changed but i know i wouldn't buy the binding untill i hear a final verdict on how they ride.
 
we got them in at the shop the other day, they look cool. But marker is quite sketchy to me!
 
From what i have heard there pretty sweet and are nothing like older marker binding new design and seems to be doing its job
 


On 5 February, the European Commission issued a warning to all EU national consumer authorities regarding a serious risk of injury posed by a set of dangerous ski bindings found on the UK market, as pointed out by UK authorities.

The notification concerns Marker Demo ski bindings, model M1 11.0 D, item number 6778F1SE.

The bindings are affixed to Apache Outlaws, Recons, Crossfires, Stryker and Moto Cross K2 skis.

The notified bindings present a serious risk of injury to consumers because in certain circumstances the lever can release when kicked or knocked by the user, allowing the boot fittings to move on their track. This may result in injury due to an untimely release of the boots from the skis. Four accidents in the US and one in the UK have been reported until now. The product originates from Germany and is sold at least in the UK and Ireland. The Commission has asked Member States to monitor their markets to check whether this product is on sale in other EU countries.

The ski binding is adaptable to a variety of boot sizes for use primarily in rental applications. The adjustable front and back boot fittings are locked into place on a track by way of a lever at the rear of the mounting

I think they recalled all the bindings in North America as well. (m1 demo).

actually, i heard it's pretty legit. I wouldn't buy it till it has a track record though. 

 
the jester is basically a less hardcore, non-AT version of the duke, should be good but I would definitely wait a season and see how they perform for other people.
 
they are fucken sick.... we have them in the shop.... im gonna run a pair with atomic pimps.... also my mate who is on K2 has them and he hasnt broken them yet....they are wider... stronger brake.... they are bomb proof.....
 
my question is who wants a binding designed for at but with out the actuall at function. Don't waste your money, buy the duke if you at, buy a solly, or look/rossi if you ski with your heels in the ski.
 
After destroyed like 3 pair of the Marker 1200 Free TI's a few years ago (when I weighed like 125 pounds) I just haven't been a marker fan. I still with Look/Rossi pivots or maybe even newer Salomon 914's.
 
i feel the same way this season i busted three heelpieces on comp 14's in a week! soo I don't feel that great about marker. But from what i've heard the jester's are supposed to be pretty legit but i'd say give them at least a season to work out any kinks
 
You're missing the point, not everyone needs or even wants AT, but everyone wants a well made binding that will be durable without being too heavy. Thats what the jester is supposed to be, who knows if it will be good or not but it's pretty hyped up.
 
these are different than any other marker.

They have a wider plate in the back and in the front to accomodate all sizes of skis, and are built stronger so that they won't break. There's minimal ramp angle (2mm only) so that you can land switch easy.

I am pretty much sure I'm buying them. I myself have had shitty luck with marker...but I think this is a turnaround.
 
I've never had a problem with the marker bindings, comp 18 and comp 20

I'm riding the new jesters at the moment and they are sick the sit you slightly higher on your ski, i think it 3mm... but still no problems with em

go to freeskier.com and click on the ski review thing. a window will open up with different reviews from harvey and others. There is a good review of the duke and the jester with lots of nice info.
 
The Jester is sick, super light and it seems durable i've skied a day on them and i have a few friends who have skied for our whole season on them, nothing but praise so far.
 
werd on da streetz is that they are amazing. and I used to be obsessed with look/rossi till I broke three toe pieces last season...tryin out fischer this season.
 
wow, you guys are dissing marker for their past bindings and everything and don't realize that it's a completely new design with excellent durability. Who cares if its marker as long as the binding is good, which is it.
 
I like Marker, I have busted two different Salomon bindings. I have yet (knock on wood) to break a Marker. The Jester and Duke look pretty bad ass, I might get a pair for my SETH's.
 
all ski bindings fucking suck i have found. I have never found a brand that didnt break. For me Salamon Bindings fucking suck the most though other than the shity Line binding they had out. I Just got the jester binding and im looking to see if they can hold up
 
ill give the jester and duke a little time before i would put any confidence into it, not to mention it is horrendously expensive. it's too bad their only seemingly decent park binding has to be over 2 times as expensive as a perfectly adequate look or rossi binding

so fuck it
 
Exactly...the old bio-metric toe had problems, but this new design is legit. Give it a chance before you come out and rag on it.
 
the jester is really different from past bindings, i think there pretty sick lookin personally
 
we just got em in the shop yesterday, and they look absoluetly dope. So much different than an old marker design.The ski tech at my shop said that even though the old GEZE is a rossi, that the technology from that binding is what was used in the idea for the heel piece. Plus a 16 Din Binding that i can get for 230 is a steal.

Now if I could just demo em first...
 
if you can get jesters for 250 you should be able to get some other 16 din bindings for less then 200. And For reference the tow does not rotate like looks and dynastars do. It looked to have a design similar to previous markers just the spring is rotated. Also there is a lot of plastic for a 16 din binding and not a lot of metal. And if you need a double digit din you probably need some metal especially in the tow. And the Plastic that holds the tow on is not particularly thick. And there is nothing special about that heel piece. other then the spring is exposed.
