marker brindings=one giant piece of suck

haha, i broke 2 pairs of marker bindings last year, and the year before i ripped a pair off the skis, marker have never seen my feet since...well i still use the ones that are broken, on my jib skis, but i have rossi bindings on all my good skis! marker blow!

 
agreed, marker do suck, along with voikl that cant seem to create a tip that will stay on, together they really butt fuck eachother

i got a story, i borrowed someones pair of candides mounted iwth marker bindings, and adjusted the binding to fit my boots, and i did a mute, and the ski i was tweaking with pulled off in my hand. then my friend broke off his toe piece last year.

ive got another story. there was this that that said check out pep in happy dayz he is riding marker. okay so i did and he was imagine that WOW! it totally blew my mind. and then i rembered how we were talking about how marker was a complete peice of SHIT. and then i rembered that when i watched happy dayz his stupid reply had nothing to do with the subject of how shitty marker was. okay bye

yes markers do suck big time. Its there MMR technology. MMR=Marker Mystery Release. i only skied markers one year, on my K2 Gyrators. with the upward release on the binding i was constantly walkig out of my skis in the mouguls. i would find myself skiing down my line with only one ski on. the other one would be a few moguls up the trail. unlike all other brands, which are retention based on preventing injuries, markers are release based. with the slights pressure on the toe all pressure is realsed and the boot quickly slides out of the binding. this is great for beginers and older people who are not in shape and are not capable of recovering from a fall.

 
i would never mount marker bindings on my skis, i had never heard anything good about them and i still think they're a piece of shit...that's why i'll stick to salomon

My binding ripped off when i was skiing...not the bindings fault, the person that mounted it was an idiot much like whoever created this post.

I adjusted them myself and when I tweaked my grab it ripped off...theres a reason stores adjust bindings for you and it is because you are not intelligent enough to do it yourself obviously.

The toe piece came off when I was skiing...see above.

And to back up andy's statement about Pep, you see the 180 foot backflip at Superpark, what bindings was he riding, anybody anybody...Marker thats right but you probaly go bigger than him dont you? Of course you do, youre God's gift to skiing, youre better than anyone and obviously know more than anybody about Marker bindings...

I can tell you an equal number of stories about Salomon, Look and Rossi bindings as well. And 3 times as many stories about Atomic and Tyrolia bindings.

 
the thing is...markers do such. if you are lucky, you can come across race stock bindings...dins 12-24, no upward toe release...then your stoked.

My dad is like hardcore and he hasnt released from his markers by accident, and shut the fuck up freestyler or whatever the fuck, andys point was valid, if Mr. Fujas rides them then obciosly they arent that bad, considering he can get like any sponser right now

yea but anyways, you get what you pay for, you can buy some piece of shit marker bindings for 50 bucks, or you can buy some sweet ass look bindings for 250 bucks, but then you can also buy some shitty ass look bindings for 50 bucks

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

Marker does make some sick really high end binders, but they are very expensive and hard to find.

The rest of the markers out there, (95% of them) do really suck. And I officailly hate marker.

I know I bought some ol 195 k2 straight skis with markers for like $3 and I threw them once onto concrete after some urban extreme skiing and the whole back piece was busted beyond disrepair

Old Markers are key...

I broke my one pair last year but I still use the Marker M41 Graphites - They go to 12 and I challenge ANYONE to find a pair of bindings tha are lighter. they are obviously durable cuz I have been kicking the shit out of them for like 4 years now. The best part? I switched the price tags on them and paid $69.99 when they were new.

 
they key thing with this post is probably 99% of the people on this board ride shitty bindings, and, even if they tried, could not get there hands on a set of half way decient bindings. If you know how biometrics work (marker technoligy) you would understand why you blow out of the toepiece so much. now, instead of complaning, try and get your hands on a set of Marker Comp 1800's they have no biometric, and hace sold metal heal cups that are milled out of metal. I personaly garrentee that not one of you on this board could brake a true racestock marker binding. marker makes (in my eyes) 4 good bindings. Comp 1400 (din of 6-14) piston control, Comp 1800( din of 8-18), comp 2800 (din of 16-28) and the very rare, only 3 produced a year comp 3000+ ( din of 30-45) those are good binders, and if you are jumping and serious about it then buy thos, cause a binding, balive it or not makes a ski.

 
I've got the Comp 1400 and never had any release problem with them...maybe I'm just lucky.

The only good Markers are their race bindings and they rock but their non-racing(I guess) suck ass cause Marker doesn't care because the average user will never bash them enough to come off like that... stick to the race ones guys and it will fix all your problmes and it will not come off when you raelly need it

 
there 'non race' bindings are great bingings, for the people they are ment for. Obiously a person like jumper or jibber will be putting more forces on his or her bindings. thay why i would suggest getting good bindings. dont go and buy a brand new pair of scratchs or 1080's and put the cheapest bindings on there, buy something that can stand the test of time. stick to metal, not composits or plastics if you really bash on your shit. I know salomon makes all metal bindings the freggin kick total ass. and the high end markers, rossi/looks and atomics are all metal too.

okay, i had trouble with markers last year and when it came to buying new bindings this year, the shop guy (Chris) convinced me that new marker 1200 frees would be the better when compared to salomon s812 and look p12s. So i went with the markers and within a week they were fucked. I took them into the shop and Chris told me marker wouldn't warrenty them because i had rail damage on my skis. Apparently sliding rails is considered impact damage, which warrenties won't cover. Anyway, i took some spare parts from the shop and was able to fix them. But then the next time out the whole heal peice cracked open and fell apart. This time i was able to convince Chris it wasn't caused by rails, so he gave me a brand new pair and sent the broken ones into marker. Its only a matter of time before these new ones go to shit, and I'll never buy marker again.

 
well shit, if pep rides them then they must be good. that's a great argument. i bet gatorade quenches your thirst better than powerade because jordan uses it too.

now im no scientist, but i know a shitty binging when i have one. ive broken markers b4, and ill break em again. but just cuz u buy the marker binding thats the cheapest, doesnt mean u r gettin a deal, it means u get what u buy. get your broke ass up and buy the high priced binding and u wont have these problems. quit bitching when your $159 marker bindings break. ull notice, the ppl who have the new EXPENSIVE marker bindings ahve no problems. and salomons seem to be going down the drain. toms r set on like 10 and he can tweak his foot out just standing there....and so can 3 othr ppl of the top of my head. nobody makes a perfect binding. if u think u can, go for it

 
marker and volkl are not associated like look and dynastar. marker works with the volkl and tecnica crew SOMETIMES, but there is NOT a direct corralation. talk smack about marker if you can't stomp your shit, but leave the Vs alone.

Markers suck cock, I had some a few years ago and right in the middle of a GS race one of the toe restraints fucking cracked off. To make a long story short I went into the woods and was out for the rest of the season. I hate markers Iv'e had Salomons ever since and they kick ass

 
i got markers, they work for me, but my friend who has the scratch bindings spun the toe piece all the way around when the ski came off on a flat rail

first off... upward relese is due to leaning to far abck... especcially in mogals. that can be due to lack of leg strenth or lack of tecnique. also ive skied markers for 8 years and i can drop a 40 and stay in fine. i have more problems with my salomon bindings.... i have broken like 3 toe pieces but that was on my old ones and they put metel on that spot on the new ones. so lern to ski and you will find mrkers r dope.

I have marker bindings. They don't seem that bad to me. At first they released almost everytime i hit a jump but i just raised the DIN settings. So far nothings happened. Most of the time they came off the binding was still locked down. Hmmm.

marker bindings do look pretty gay, but....ive had the shitiest kind M27's for 5 years, skied hard, set them at like 9 for din, and had no problems...im just waiting to die on them since everyone talks so much shit about marker.

I have the marker free 1400s and they kick ass. I've done a shitload of terrain in them, huge pipe hits, 60 foot tables, moguls, whateevr, and I've never had a bad release. They only time they release is if I'd break my legs if they didn't. I say Marker rocks.

I have some of the old M51 Graphites and I've never had a problem with them. Skied on them a bunch and I won't say they're good or bad, just dependable.

--But as the technology to build highways and telephones has crept north of the American border, so too have illicit gambling, crack-whores and Shopping Cart abuse gangs.
 
sirjibsalot, what the hell are you talking about. the tyrolia mad flex 9 is a kick-ass bindings, and the majority of tyrolia high-end bindings are sweet. i've ridden on tyrolia bindings forever on big mountain/jibbing/backcountry/urban and i've never had a problem.

salomon's always pop out for me for some reason. I know for a fact that if a salomon binding has any snow in it, it will not work well at all. Markers have released on me for no reason too, same with rossi but salomons are the worst for me.
