marker bindings problems

i've had marker bindings the m 1000's on my line mike nicks since the past season. last year i broke them 3 times in various manners. each time my shop replaced them for free so i got lucky. this year my friend has already broken his after being out twice on it. whats the deal w/ marker i thought they were the top shit?

When you buy a shitty binding, no matter what company it is from, what do you expect to happen.

The m1000 is a great binding for recreational skiing, not so much for aggressive skiers.

no. marker is the worst of the freeskiing bindings. do some quick searches through the forums and you'll realise EVERYONE here hates em.

rossi/look dude. the marker is a race binding, tweaked a little for freeride. check out the look p12 jibs, or rossi scratch 100s or 140s. i have two pairs of 140s, and love them. and whatever you do, dont buy reactors

ill let ya know when i ride me- believethehype (please: dont)

Pirate steeze, arrrr!

the marker binding you have is far from appropriate for what you are doing. it is equivalent to a look nova. if you want a real opinion of marker bindings to compare to a top of the line look/rossi or top of the line salomon, check out the Comp 14.0 Free or the Comp 14.0 EPS (a cheaper version of the same thing).

it is true that alot of people hate on marker, but i think that alot of the opinioins are formed through using a low end model. the high end stuff from marker is great. also, make sure your forward pressure is set correctly.

I have cheap markers and they are usually ok, but i rarely leave the hill without boosting out of my skis facefirst at least once after a slightly sketchy landing.

i disagree. the marker hate isn't the same as the 1080 hate. the 1080 hate is more of damn the man hate. the marker hate is a genuine marker sucks and many of us have found that out the hard way hate.

if there is one true piece of information that comes out of all the other shit said here, its that marker bindings are the worst binding for the general freeskiing community. that is unless you get their binding that has a din up to 22 or so.

skiing switch and i went to 180 around and i caught an edge...the brake ripped out and the whole back end of the binding was fucked. the other time i was practicing 3s and on one i didnt make it all the way around the the heel piece got messed. my friend was on a diamond fully groomed and somehow he fell and he looked at it and the front toe piece had shattered into three places

and i dont mean to hate on any company but its just kinda frusterating when your binding breaks three times in a season and you see the same happening to a friend

I don't have much experience with marker but I don't think its fair to rag a companies recreational binding and say all the bindings suck. I'm sure someone else can comment on the quality of the 1000 binding. I'm sure if you were using the freeride binding (not sure which one) you would not have broken it as easy. If you are getting a replacement from marker try to add a few bucks and make the upgrade.

Freezy - wow youre an idiot man...i crashed just skiing a groomer once and I tore the whole heel piece on markers to pieces. And yes it was one of their higher up bindings as well. MARKERS SUCK. End of storyt.

yeah man i have m1000's they suck so much dill man, my brakes are fucked and theyre completly shitty so now i gotta redrill my fucking ar5's so i can replace those gay ass bindings

yea markers are fine for everything but freestyle bc, and hardpack there great bindings but why would you want somthing that you cant use every where

I have seen all level marker bindings break more often than any other type of binding of a compareable level.

I have seen more prereleases on markers of any level, including the higher end bindings, than any other binding

I have personaly broken 2 pairs of mr1600s, and some of the levels below.

My markers have not released when they should. Too often.

My markers have released when they shouldn't. Too often.

I would personaly ride c610s above mr1600s,1800s ect, and feel safer.

There is absolutely no reason to buy markers above any other binding made.
