StartFragmentA staple in our camp has passed away.Mark Stegall was more than a camp coach and parkmanager for MHSSC.He was an enthusiast of shredding, passing on hisenthusiasm, passion, skills and love for the sport to all who approached. He gave his personal time to helping others achievewhat they aspired for, and what they feared. Mark has managed mhssc's park for quite some timenow, and for any of you who ever approached our terrain park on mt hood duringthe summer in search of shredding some features, you know mark was open tooffer if you were willing to dig a little. He did work his ass of at every corner of our camp. From building our skate ramps, all our park features to driving one camper allthe way to the coast to share some surfing knowledge for a day.He was a selfless man who gave his heart for ourshredding youth. Mark was in a terrible boarder cross accident intahoe a few weeks ago, he went home and complained of some back and neck pain.He was found dead in his tahoe apartment days later. This is devastating to our camp. Our currentfreestyle group will continue to operate a passionate, open-minded terrain parkfor freestyle snowboarders and skiers. Shit...A bunch of my friends were saying this on FB a few weeks ago, but I hadn't seen a picture of who it was that passed away and had no idea that I knew the guy...He was such a cool person...RIP and SIP

Holy shit. Mark was the man. Shred in peace.

Hard to imagine MHSCC without Mark there.

So sad, Everytime I saw him at MHSSC he always looked like he was having a fun time and trying to help others have fun. He will be missed. RIP

wow that is terrible. i dug for him more times than i could count, he was always glad to have the help. i'm really sorry for that loss, he was a great guy.

He was a sick dude, he took us to hood river to skate last summer and was just stoked on everythging, RIP

I went to mhssc in winter 4 years ago and mark was my groups' coach. he was the man! one of the nicest and most charismatic people i have met. he inspired me to be a better skier and a better person. the four days i spent skiing at hood and hanging out at camp with mark and my friends were 4 of the funnest days of my life. it is truly heartbreaking to hear that he has passed.
