Marble Hornets...........Scary Shit

Its just an elaborate hoax, executed well that will equate to a good term mark in these guys film class.

I think that theres a group of friends that created this video series back in may in a week or two with the plan to release them in the coming months hoping it would work and people would believe them, then they created a twitter account to try and make it hella legit, and it seems hella legit, then this attheark guy came into play, which was created to make it seem like he's the "slenderman" but the account was just created to back up to story

i understand this, but why would the link say the assaulting man would be totheark...it's probably just one of the guy's buddies acting in the film
 
i also wouldn't be surprised if this was someones college final or something and it ended up working a lot better then they expected and elaborated on an original idea
 
i think we're on 2 different pages

i know the entire thing was staged, however that website discussing entry 18 said that the masked attacker was probably totheark. my guess is that totheark was another account by that kid with some deciphered audio just to add to the story. what i'm wondering is where that website got the idea that the attacker was totheark when it was just an actor in the film. the site makes it seem as though another youtube user showed up in the house and attacked J
 
i think some of the users on that site are also in one it considering there aren't to many posts and they also add to the story
 
I think where they got the idea is from the video response TTA posted for J's entry 17. Telling him to go back to the house.

also how did they not notice slender man standing in the bush in video 17?
 
To me it looks like perhaps no one was actually attending at the camera, it was just set up on a tripod or something, and no one actually had a view of out the window

However that is just my speculation.

i also thought it was interesting how they mentioned brian not being there....and there was someone outside.....and brian was a crucial character throughout the whole thing.....
 
no but i think everything was done for a reason, including the dialogue and all the setting up of every scene, so nobody noticing that was either a huge plot hole or the creator was trying to make a point
 
yeah i know you think its fake, i was asking that afro kid, and yeah everything must have had to be filmed perfectly, especially they one in the car with the head placement
 
I've said a couple times in the thread that I think its just a well executed final film project.

I don't think all of this is random. I believe they had the idea of using TTA to provoke more investigation far in advance.

As you can see it has sparked huge debate.

If you wanna see ridiculous theories as to whats going on in this mini series google "Marble Hornets unfiction" click on the forums.

That being said... im not sure entirely whats going on... What i find odd is that when "J" woke up in his car in the woods mysteriously not remembering what had happend... his knife gone.... and Masked man convulsing as J was being attacked... Slenderman to me was definetly in the vicinity... He has paranormal powers that erased his memory....

Further more, TTA has not posted a video response since video 18 has been released, and up to this point he was usually really quick to respond.

My vision of this is that Slender man took the knife and maybe took out TTA... im not really sure.

slenderman does have paranormal powers but my take on it was that J did something to TTA that caused him to convulse, maybe he even stabbed him without remembering...it doesn't show

slenderman could've erased J's memory but i dont think he took the knife and killed TTA, i think J may have stabbed TTA when he attacked him and left the knife in TTA's stomach or wherever because we heard coughing and sounds of someone being pretty badly hurt, which was clearly not J

i think slenderman was present in every single part of that movie, in fact he's in the background of most of the clips, so it's safe to assume he was there in #18

idk why we're even speculating about this, it's blatantly fake
 
I know why, because its fun. hahaha it was set up to be sort of a thriller mystery with clues set up to figure out the story.

That being said, im going to continue.

In episode 18, when the masked man charges at J... they scuffle but the camera falls down. and you can't see the altercation... However the audio track becomes distorted... to me indicating that SM is right there because every time that happens.. earlier in the movie SM is around.

Also...I think the coughing was J, remember in episode 16, when he got close to the locked door, he collapsed coughing on the ground. Again indicating to me that something was off and SM was around. I haven't quite figured out whether J's coughing and SM are correlated but up to now im going to assume so.
 
there's a kid named alex who was working on a short film for school called marble hornets. he filmed at a lot of wooded locations including a house in the woods about a mile from where he lived. he abandoned the project halfway through and told his friend J to burn the tapes. instead, J kept them and put them in a closet. he recently discovered them and posted the more notable scenes which involve an incredibly tall bald guy in a suit who basically follows alex around and pops up in random places. alex becomes incredibly paranoid and fucked up because of this guy following him and eventually abandons the project and disappears

video #14 is the last one shot by alex and it shows slenderman (tall bald guy) coming into his room at night and then it shows a shot of alex with blood all over his head

J sees this video and a few years later decides to find alex and discover what happened. he visits the house where an alex allegedly could be found but the house is abandoned. in the house he finds an overturned couch, a bunch of magazine shreds, pills, blood in the sink, and a bullet casing

he leaves and then a mysterious user who replied to some of the videos named totheark tells him to go back to the house. J goes back and finds a doll resembling slenderman on the floor and turns around and points the flashlight down the hall. at the end of the hall on a couch is a guy wearing a white mask who people think is meant to be totheark. J asks if it's alex and suddenly the guy runs at him and tackles him. you hear sounds of struggle until the mask guy starts convulsing on the floor and lays still before attacking J once again.

the clip suddenly shifts to the woods in the day and J is in his car. he woke up there not remembering how he got there. he checks the camera to see if the night even happened, and sure enough it's on tape. that's the end
 
oh and the whole slenderman myth was created in somethingawful forums by one dude who was making fake paranormal pictures. he made a few that were sick and the whole thing developed from there
 
well i watched part of it and it just looked weird, and the noises were just annoying as fuck, nothin scary about that at all it's just someone blowing into a mic
 
I agreem the SM is in every video. why did the SM come into the room at night? i don't get that part, and then he suddenly disappeared. definitely supernatural powers.
 
Seems to me that entry was played somewhat backwards. The first 50 seconds or so are why alex set up the camera facing the door. Intending to catch the SM on camera. And again at the very beginning you see video tearing.

The point where he turns on the light and picks up the camera and stuff is before the SM creeps into the room.

i think you are refering to entry 14?
 
well in the video it's after but you're saying it's before in real life?

the blood in that one ruined it for me

and yeah SM has supernatural powers, the guy who created the whole myth made it so that he opens his arms and some power draws you in and he takes you, nobody has said what he does with you but i don't think it's too awesome

i got creeped out in the entry where they're all in the car and the kid puts his head back and you see SM standing in the background and alex freaks out and there's distortion and shit
 
dam these dudes are bound to get a good grade! pretty good and thrilling stuff there! the only thing i would say is the art with the blood and the part where he wakes up makes it obviously fake..other than that its pretty good and got me going for a while haha
 
Yep thats what I'm saying.

If you look at the video, it kind of makes sense (well to me anyways) The first 52 seconds are the result what "Alex" was setting up to film in the proceeding 35 or so seconds (from around 0:54 to 1:25).

If you analyze the video further, as SM is moving out of the frame, in the top left corner, you see a distinct blackness.. Indicating to me, that maybe SM struck Alex,(perhaps the elbow in a cocking of the arm motion).

The blood on the face is a result of SM hitting Alex... im not to sure why it was edited this way, but that is what my interpretation of this entry is.
 
i thought this would scare me shitless i was, for the most part disappointed. oh well it was well done i guess
 
i havent watched any of them but if this really happened than the media would nationalize this shit... remember the guy that kept those girls in the shack for their entire life?
 
its entertaining, last night i was too scared to watch it cuz all you guys were like its creepy as shit" but its not that bad. lookin forward to #19
