manual cars

funny story... one of my good friends was driving stick for the first time (or one of her first times) and as we were going threw an intersection in heavy traffic, she stalled about 12 times and the car just died. it was the funniest thing ever. eventually my other buddy (the owner of the car) put it in neutral and we rolled off to the right side where they switched drivers. people were so mad, because we actually stalled throughout an entire green light and in traffic... good times

haha..whoo whoo...when i first got it manual i could drive it easy then till i brought it home and want to go back out again...it stalled like a bitchy 30 times i didn't even move a foot that drove me nuts, then after pratice i got the hang of it and can rev it up and spin out the tires (not quite good for the clutch) but for fun why not?

i just got my license yesterday. i've been driving a standard since i got my permit a year ago though so i can drive them fine. they're definately better than autos and they're more fun

i drive a 2001 honda prelude its a standard 5 speed........i learned on a standard when i was like 12 ill never get a auto....just gotta practice at it..eventually you wont have to think about it

I hated my car when I was first learning to drive it. now I love it. love love love it. it took me about a week to become solid with it. I still stall out on occasion. like today...it was an off day. but manual is so fun. the only thing I don't like still is hill starts. but the dude with the big toe-little toe method knows whats up.

it took me like 2 weeks of driving to get confident enough to go on the highway and stuff i'm still not the best shifter in the world but my advice to you is to go out there with someone who is reely good at stick and get them to show you and what not, it jsut takes a long time to get a good feel for the clutch.

let me get this right. just learning to drive, and you got a 04 wrx? and now you're getting a 06? how can all you ppl afford nice cars? especially if you're young and just learning to drive? how old are you?

if you start out with a manual it is much easier than going to one after driving an auto matic and driving an auto isnt as much fun. the thing is i hate driving my brothers truck because its a 95 s10 4 banger with a 2.3 liter hate it because when you have a load in the back like say snow i suck at starting off and half the time ill choke and it will kill but driving a car with a stick would be kick ass and just a tip when starting off dont let out the clutch to slowly because youll burn up the clutch plate adn dont drop the clutch thats about all the tip i can give im hoping to get a chevy 1500 from a friend for $600 but it needs a new tranny but i should be able to fix that up and its got a giant ding in the side but o well i dotn mind

hahaha you have some good times ahead. When I was learning (like a week ago) I staled it at almost every intersection. I stalled in the middle of an intersection 6 times in a row once and I had a red light. Nobody could go until I got out of the way. and another time I forgot to down shit in a parking lot and was going like 15 km/h in 4th gear. my engine light was on for the rest of the day after that one

dude thats mad bad i stalled my brothers truck 3 times a few days ago i was so pissed and it was all cuz a chick was in the truck and every tiem i shifted my hadn was rubbing on her ass and i didnt stall it for atleast a month before 4th gr 15 km an hr thats like idle speed in 2nd gear lol all you have to do is drive right for another 10 min and your engine cools off it happened to my sister because she did the 6 stallings but it was more like 10.

the way i learned was basically just drag launched everywhere. then you just give it less gas and you have it down. it worked for me.

its just like riding a dirtbike, but yeah you'll be glad you got manny, its so much more fun than automatic. just practice, and dont be afraid of stops on hill's, you have to learn them sometimes.

the bold was to see if that would get rid of the italics.
