Manfrotto 501,701, friction comparison

Long story short I'm getting a 701 to replace my 501, but I was wondering how the friction of the 701(I know it's fixed) Compares to the 501(when at the minimum friction setting), does the 701 have less friction? more? the same?Also I'm wondering about mainly horizontal friction but vertical would be good too.

yeah, but looking through that would take forever just to find one specific detail. Dont be a dick about it.
