Mandatory court date?

uh......guilty. And probably the worst possible consequences they can throw at ya. What's your court date for, I have one coming up for going over 6 points on my license for the second time.

umm it doesn't mean you are found guilty. You will have a warrant out for your arrest so if you get pulled over ever then they will arrest you on the spot when they run your name or they will send cops to your house to talk/arrest you. It could add fines or another charge and you would probably be in jail until bailed out and would have to go to another court date

yup. he's got it right.

they file a warrant on ya and then you're really in trouble.

yeah theyll put a bench warrant out on your ass which really isnt a big deal and probably would get dropped if you showed up to the next court date, but they will fuck you over harder for missing a mandatory court date, which is basically like spitting in the judges face and telling him you dont give a fuck, so if you want a lighter sentence i would show up

actually it depends, if it is a summary offense and you plead not guilty on the citation. you will be found guilty and givin the toughest penatly that crime code for your summary offense allows. but if it is a misdeameanor or higher then yeas a bench warrent will be issued and will create more of a hassle. when you eventaully get caught or turn yourself in there will be additional charges and fines. but for an open container (unless you are under age and got an under age with it) in PA has a maximum fine with court cost included of $386 and is not a big deal. call the district justice and find out what you need to do
