Man takes shotgun from attacker

how is this a stupid fucking thread? seems pretty badass to me. I've never seen video of something like that before. pokemon over here'd be shitting himself most likely as would i.
 
Could you legally shoot the attempted robber with the shotgun in this scenario and claim self-defense? You have no idea if he has a pistol tucked on him somewhere or if he is running away to lead you to a trap.

I feel like if someone pulls a gun on you that automatically gives you carte blanche to defend yourself and kill the other person.
 
I think I'd shoot him in the legs no matter what. I doesn't really matter though, since his fingerprints are probably on the gun.
 
He probably should have shot him. The car even pulled up and asked the victim for their shotgun back! If the attackers had another loaded gun in the car, this guy might be dead. That tells me, shooting this guy would have been a good idea, and legal.
 
I think if you shoot someone in the back, you are going to have a tough time in court. With the whole thing on camera, it is going to look like the guy was no longer a threat.

Personally, I agree with your last statement. If you pull a gun on someone, you deserve to get shot and it shouldn't matter which side the entrance wound is on.
 
No, you couldn't legally shoot him. You've disarmed him and he is fleeing. Therefore he is no longer an immediate threat to your well being. If you shoot him, you become the assailant.

Now if he didn't immediately flee, then you should be OK with shooting him. He's already attacked you once. You now have a weapon and he still wants confrontation. I think that'd be grounds for self defence.
 
I understand that he disarmed him. So, legally the victim would have to wait for the shooter or his accomplice to pull out another weapon in order to fire the shotgun?? That just does not seem right.
 
The rest of the story is that the guy came back and wanted his gun back.

I would have returned his ammo slightly used and then handed back an unloaded gun to whatever was left of him.

But hopefully will never find myself in that situation.
 
not necessarily another weapon, he would just have to make another advance on you. if he runs away then you are out of danger. if he is still right in front of you and say is reaching into his pocket or still acting aggressive in any way, im sure you would be in the clear to pop some capz
 
There was a related incident the day before where the same guys tried to rob some guy and he just denied them and they fled the scene...

Fucking weak ass criminals man
