Man called police on me?

So, today was just another one of those lazy summer days where you just chill out and enjoy the weather... My friends and i decided to go tubing down this river to a bridge that we jump off of. Anyway, a good time is had and we walk back up the roads to my pick up truck.

After a quick stop for lunch, we start heading home. To get back to my house we have to go on a local highway; however, having the tubes tied in the bed of my truck, we drove slowly. The road turns to a single lane and the man behind me decides to ride on my tail so i tap my brakes to let him know whos boss. He proceeds to yell and shake his hands and then whips out his cell phone and calls someone (im guessing the police...)

I pull over to the emergency lane to avoid conflict seeing as i didnt want to ruin a good day. He flys by and points to his phone. My question is, if he were to call the police, would i get in any trouble? Shouldnt he get in trouble and therefore he just screwed himself?

Recap- Driving home from tubing, going slow, got tailgated, man might have called the police since we were going too slow. Should i be concerned about getting in trouble?

looks like he's screwing himself over. he's the one tailgating. as far as I know hitting the brakes isnt illegal anywhere

you got nothing to worry about bro, if anything you could get him introuble for aggressive driving, he was tailing you. cops arent gona be knocking on your door, no one cares if someone was going a little slow especially if you had shit tied down in your truck bed, you were doing the safe thing.

Ya you have nothing to worry about. I doubt he even called them and if he did they probably just laughed at him.

was this him?

He was tailgating. As long as you were going the correct speed you are fine. Also he was using his cellphone while driving.

i doubt anything will happen the police have much more shit to deal with other then that... one time me and my brother were driving and we saw my friend next to us and my brother stuck his hand out the window and high fived my friend while we were driving on the high way and a lady in a car behind us called the cops and at the red light we heard her reading off our license plates

i did that to a guy on the highway the other day. i'm sorry but i've gotta tell this story, it made my life.

i'm in the right lane on the highway driving 60 with my mom. this dude is behind me tailgating me like a motherfucker. he starts beeping at me and then goes to pass me and flips me off. i was like aw fuck no. so i sped up and he couldn't pass cause a truck was in front of him. he looks over at me and flips me off again and the whole left side of his car scraped up against the median. i fucking lost it. it was the best thing to happen to me. i promptly got off the next exit so i didn't get killed. my mom never even noticed what happened, she was on the phone.

that is fucking awesome.

however, to the thread creator: if you are driving really slow, pull over and let people pass you. I don't play the road rage game but it really does suck if you're stuck behind a slowpoke. you never know, the guy might have been late for work or something even more important.

Well the thing is even when people call the cops on you while you're driving, all the cops are going to do is keep an eye out while they're doing normal patrols. I mean the people calling could be making it up and cops don't have the resources to check out every little call.

Same thing when you hear about people calling the cops about people dui'ing. They can't possibly hunt down the car, they'll just keep a lookout.

oh yeah I forgot to mention--

I was driving down my road and this woman was in front of me going slow so I passed her. its a dirt road and its dangerous to pass but not if you know it well, and I've driven on it hundreds of times. so I passed her, no ill will just a quick pass. and I noticed she started speeding up behind me. she followed me to my house and started bitching me out.

I told her it was safe what I did, that you are allowed to pass, that nothing bad resulted from it but she wouldn't hear it. I was pissed because I just wanted to go to sleep. she called the cops, and I told her to stop wasting her time and leave me alone.

cop shows up. I told him what I did was legal. cop said it didn't matter, he didn't see it so he couldn't do anything about it anyways.

yeah it illegal to talk on a phone in nj, except for in an emergency....

so unless you left something important out, like you whipped out an AK and waved it at him, than you're in the clear
