Mammoth

I want to go to Mammoth mountain next year. Is it better for winter break (End of December) or Spring break (End of March or Beginning of April). And what is the closest airport that major airlines fly into? Also, is it good for non-park skiing?

i would say spring break if its a good season next year, im going out west this year at the beginning of march and i dunno what ill find but w/e, and its probably easiest to fly into sacremento

i think the closest airport is reno. i dont know much about the other stuff.

i herd april is the best time its when they have the biggest jumps or so i hear

Go in the Spring. The Sierras are known for late-season storms.

The non-park skiing is great. Lots of steeps, cliffs, and chutes.

I'm guessing that you'll have to fly into Bishop, but I'm sure their webpage has that kind of information.

there is no aiport in bishop. cheapest and easiest is Reno aiport, you can taek a shuttle from reno airport to mammoth mcdonalds for 22 bucks. go in april, parks are going off then

so there is a shuttle, that can drive me and my buddies from reno to mammoth, and then we would just walk to our hotel from there?

Yep, and there are free shuttles that run all over town and up to the mountain.

is mammoth's village as good as whistler or vail's? cuz I want to do stuff after I'm done skiing too

mammoths village lacks hard compared to those, yes go in the spring, thats when it goes off

there are airports in mammoth and bishop. no commercial flights but ive flown out of both many times
