Hey im planning atrip out to mammoth trying to ski the 20-through the 26th...What will the conditions be like? What shit will be set up..How much of the mountain will be open..and how fast will it be?Let me know fellaz

 
It's hard to say man. I've been there all weekend and the amount of snow would make you think it's only feb. It gets really soft after a couple hours though and by the end of the month it's hard to predict what the temps will be like.

As far as what will be set up, that's anybody's guess. It changes every week and right now the main park is kinda weak if you ask me. The pulled out a bunch of shit that was there last week and haven't put anything new in. But I'll cut 'em some slack and figure that they were just really busy with the Masters.

 
at least its gonna be open until july

id take any kind of snow just to be able to ski that long

 
what's mammoth? is it like disney world? i like places like disney world. does it have a big water slide?

aight...will they still have alot of stuff set up..and are they guaranteed to be open till july..cuz i called and one guy said they might close earlier cuz u can't get speed

 
Memorial day last year... 1 35 footer and a 45 footer flawless lips with soft landings and tons of locals going off. Spring pipe on the upper mountain, 1 35 foot box, 1 podium box, 2 20 foot rails, the deck rail and a triple kink. Trust me go and you will progress like you have never imagined...

thats it ,there staying open for camps and CAMPS ONLY , just cause there is some money being throw at em' form the camps and they dont want the local kids and whoever poachin em' hopefully im gonna get my backyard box going

 
On the Mammoth Mountain web sit it says that the skiing is open till July 4th, if there is information that i am missing i would love to know about it because i am going down there on June 17-25th

why are you the only person to know about this? and why would they let people thinking it will be open until august? people will be very upset when they spend a few grand to get there and they are turned back becasue nobody told them the place was closed.

 
^ odd that the resort is planing activites for the 4th of july and posting plans in the mammoth forums and talking about skiing and biking up there for it. i think your full of shit like half the kids on the site, friends uncle's brothers daughter is the misstres of the CEO and she said............

well if someone else who knew was on here to verify it they would. i just heard this skiing today so chances are its not to widely known, at this point in the season 90% of the people skiing have passes and that means there loosing money paying lifties and whoever to keep the mountain open, they make bank on mtn. biking and are trying to get that rolling asap

 
So will you tell your "friend" to tell his dad to update the website and inform all the other resorts on when they are closing. I know that my resort is taking a couple vans down there the weekend of 17-20th (or something like that) to ski. So if you could do that, that would be awesome.

 
are the camps planned out yet? last i heard they were still getting it together, anybody have dates and prices?

^ empire is having a camp there the 20th through the 28th i believe. it's around $1250 with 7 days of skiing and 8 days of lodging. that's the only one i know of for sure.

 
yeh empire does have same dates and prices, any others though?

if anyone is looking for a last minute ski trip, empire has a few spots and if your 18 or older, "the bare bones" camp is the way to go
