anyone gunna be up there tommarow or thursday? A storm is passing through and there expecting 2 feet of fresh snow, i hope they can keep their park together

yea speed will be a problem... but 2ft of pow is the best time to go in the park if they get things under control, soft landings, new features. I wish we had 2ft of snow total this season...

well im only 14 and parents wont let me just go off in the backcountry cus they're safety freaks and yeh. not to mention my skis arnt the best powder skis. Ive never been to mammoth either so , im not sure my way around. My dad is part of the mammoth masters though so i probably will be on other runs

study a trail map, im sure you'll be able to find your way around. and with 2 feet of snow you don't have to go in the backcountry, im sure there is lots of terrain to be had.

Dude...

1. Why the hell would you ski the park on a day like tomorrow?

Mammoth won't have groomed it much, if any, because they know where the good skiing will be. And it won't be in the park

2. You will be at mammoth. You don't need backcountry.

you dont need to go into the BC to get fresh......just find some aussie kids wearing big hats...they will hook you up

at my mountain I would because the backcountry terrain sucks. you can practise new tricks with soft landings and not worry about crashing and get hurt

No real need to go to Mammoth, at least from down in So Cal. Mt Baldy is sick right now with 24 to 38 inches of new pow. But ya If I had the gas money I'd roll to Mammoth..but its firing down here in our back yard so...staying local

yea, but he is 14, and his parents are taking him here. there is no point in hiking and skiing mt. baldy for crappy heavey snow when he is in mammoth and can ski 2 feet of light fresh

i wouldnt say mammoths snow is usually "light"...but yeah k2juvy...there are a lot of awesome inbounds terrain that youll never have to think of going to the park. plus, you can even better your skiing by jumping off of shit in a normal line..getting more creative and learn how to handle diff conditiosn and shit at the same time...plus its HELLA fun.

im sorta offended... we dont see two feet of fresh in two years... im thinking i would be steering clear of the park until its tracked out

im all about skiing out of the park when theres freshies but man it is really fun to do powder jumps its a totally different expirence

i always thiught that semmi powder days would be good for trying stuff in park.... till i got a concussion from hiting my head on the "soft" snow.

No, powder. Not all of the snow here is so called "sierra cement", and even that isn't hard to ski, you just have to ski faster and more aggressively. It gets such a bad rep from people who skied with hop turns on skis that are 660 underfoot.... and those that still think they are the shit fro doing so.

omg dude are those kids at the top of this thread serious!? u gettin 2 ft of fresh...actually more...and ur worried about the park!!! i might sounds like a dick here but...UR A FUCKING RETARD!! go ski sum bc or sumtin!!!

A buddy of mine got two teleboards, which are basically the lamest thing you can do besides snowlerblading.

We are going to mount them with alpine binders... they will be like 180 long, and like 145 underfoot or something, but they have a rediculous amount of sidecut.

i think this is a pic of the ones he found:
