Mammoth vs June vs Reno Area

How much bigger is Mammoth compared to June??? Also is the reno area better skiing scene than mammoth area??? I was hoping to get the season pass for 99 dollars to June and stay at a hostel near by in Mammoth lake. Do you think June would be the best place to go or Mammoth or Reno area. We are hoping to see bit of everything, park and other terrains in the mountain, basically we just wanna have kick ass time w/out too much money. Help me with some thoughts, thanks.
 
It's all about Truckee bro. Reno is no less than an hour from Anywhere. You migh as well live in Auburn if you're looking to drive an hour each way.
 
buy the june pass and live in lee vining lee vining is a hick town that is only like 10 mins from june.
 
no less then one hour from reno area?! i can leave my apt. and be at alpine in 30-45 minutes depending on weather. only takes an hour on real shitty days.
 
Depends on if you want a life besides skiing. I think the hostels charge like 30 a night so that would be more expensive than getting a super cheap place. If you want to have a night life and such come to Reno and make a few trips to mammoth. If you wanna just shred...move to truckee or mammoth or maybe the southshore.
