Mammoth, Tahoe, or Jackson?

You will be happy with any of those choices. If you come to Tahoe I would stay in South Lake if you want to go out and have a good time at night. North Lake gets pretty quite. Either way it will probably be a little bit busier then Wanaka.

Yep. And God loves Squaw and Alpine. True story.

But seriously, I don't think that you'll go wrong with either place. I don't know too much about Mammoth as a place to live (but it's a great mountain and does get the most snow usually in Ca), but Tahoe is awesome (a lot of options, cool town, beautiful location, etc. Go Northlake though-way better skiing overall. Plus if you need a change of scenery Sacramento is 2 hours away, Reno is about 45min away, and the bay is about 3 1/2 hours away). Jackson is a little more separate from anything else, but it's a really cool town and some of the best snow and terrain I have ever skiied.

Mammoth mountain is amazing. The town of mammoth lakes is a complete shithole. Tahoe has great nightlife but it rains so the snow isn't as good as mammoth. Jackson has better terrain and snow than both and I don't know anything about the nightlife.

To elaborate further........

Mammoth is fun. The mountain is big & spread out that you wont face retarded lift lines. Plenty of parks spread across the whole thing as well. We had 667" last season and "supposedly" this season should be similar.

The town is nice and everything is within walking distance, as well as the free bus system. I dunno what person above me is talking about saying its a shithole...........cause it certainly isn't. Find some good pals and anywhere is a good time.

Seriously. Utah is sick. Lot of different mountains and lots of tourists cycling in and out for entertainment, plus awesome restaurants. The religious bullshit is annoying but easy to bypass...

Mammoth is so boring. I love the mountain at mammoth more than anywhere i've ever been. I've had a pass since I was born. But the town sucks. There is nothing to do, no good restaurants, no entertainment, no culture, and the place fills up with the biggest clowns you have ever seen on the weekends.

If your idea of perfection is riding all day, coming home, making food and burning L's with your friends, Mammoth is perfect. That's why I like it. But there's nothing else to do.
