regardless of what percent they did own, the fact is that the shares they had did not not have the voting power. if you knew anything about business you would know that different kinds of shares can have different power. My dad is CFO and VP of the mountain so i know my shit. I have lived here longer than you have been alive.

You obviously don't know anything about business. If someone, anyone owns 59% of ANY company...the SHAREHOLDERS, MAJORITY shareholders dictate how the money gets spent. NOT the CFO. The CFO is responsible for accounting for the money in according with GAAP (Generaly Accepted Accounting Principles). Tell your dad he's a fag!

so what, you've taken an accounting course and are pulling "GAAP" out to show that you know your shit? There are different types of shares in a company, including voting and non-voting. I could own 100% of the non-voting shares of a company and still not be able to do shit when it comes to policy or anything else.
 
So wait..A company like Intrawest invested millions of dollars into Mammoth (by buying shares) yet they didnt have any voting power? I think not. Makes no sense. Intrawest would never do that.

I'm not saying they didn't own any voting shares, cause they did, but in this case they did not own a controlling stake.

intrawest in mainly a real estate company. they are selling their stake in mammoth to focus more on real estate.
 
Thats why Mammoth let the shares go in the first place. They got a shitload of money from a company that didnt have any controlling power. Thats why the sale is such a big deal now.
 
Face it. Intrawest bailed Mccoy out. They are mostly responsible for its success. If Mccoy could have done it by themselves he would have. He couldnt, so he didnt.
 
Mammoth is flat compared to Squaw & Alpine. Also, the Mammoth park wasnt even that good last year. Bear Mountain beats Mammoth hands down. Mammoth needs to get rid of Oren, hes a fucking clueless egomaniac and they need someone innovative with new ideas.
 
Actually the McCoy kids all sold out to intrawest. Dave just sold the rest of the shares so when he dies (he is 89), the kids wont fight over them and sell them out to some random company.
 
intrawest provided capital that was invested in the mountain as well as real estate ventures. so what, you are going back on your arguement now? so they didn't control the company? face it, you don't know what you are talking about. the main reason companies issue stock is to raise capital.

I never suggested the mountain is better, its not...just the park. You have to face it, no matter how much we all may hate to admit it....bear mountains park has pretty much everyone elses beat.
 
actually... the park at bear mountain sucks dick. yeah, they have a lot of cool shit and features there, but it is so poorly taken care of. in runs are rutted out like mad, landing are wayyy the fuck too close or too far away from rails... it's just not well maintained.
 
What the fuck are you talking about? Eric is cool, builds sick parks, and interested in what the riders want. Not an asshole at all.
