Mammoth or vail?

I am planning a trip to either mammoth or vail over winter break next year. I was wondering which you guys think is better, Mammoth Mtn. or Vail? I ski about 40% park 60% all mtn. (I have the chronic blends), and I like powder, but I haven't skiied it too much. I have been to breck before, but I want to go somewhere else. So give me something to read. Also, if you guys have any other resort suggestions like a better choice for me, post it!!

there is always whistler, but i made a similar choice this week. i was debatin going to aspen open or to mammoth for week and just skiing. i chose mammoth cause its going off right now, and i havn't hit a legit jump yet this season. hope that helps

definitely go to mammoth. normally i love the resorts in colorado (with the exception of copper because it sucks dick) but mammoth is a million times more fun than anything here. the parks are sick and there is tons to do all over the mountain.

ya colorado sucks balls. dont come here. it doesnt snow and everybodys assholes go to mammoth. beside vail is for bitches

Of the two, definitely Mammoth. I've skied both. Vail is certainly nice, but it's more geared for family/resort-style skiing. Mammoth has some of the best parks in the world, but they also have some sweet steeps and chutes up top. Also, Mammoth gets more snow.

But if I had to choose one resort, I'd probably go with Whistler or Jackson Hole. I've skied Whistler, and it's everything it's cracked up to be. JH also seems sweet although I don't know if it has much of a park. I'd also consider Utah--Alta/Snowbird/Brighton/Solitude.

yeah, but I don't want to go to JH cuz there really is no park, I've been there once before, but Whistler sounds like a good idea, but I really like Mammoth too, hmmm, tough choice

whister's your best bet for pow and good park, though if there's a lot of pow you're not going to be in the park all that much.

well, that is very impressive, I did hear that vail has a top 10 park anyway, plus the back bowls, so I still think the toss up is between mammoth and vail, but which is easier to get to?

he's talking about NEXT WINTER BREAK. not today, not tomorrow, the snow amount at either place has no relevance nor can anyone predict what the snow amount will be. I would wait and see how next season shapes up and then make your decisions based on snow amounts. Mammoth is 78 dollars a day so they are the same price.

Mammoth is much steeper than Vail. Personally I like A-basin better than Vail. Vail is really not all that steep, a big mountain, with some wide open bowls, but not much to really scare you. I would rather go to squaw, whistler, or jackson than either of those, although if you ski 40% park jackson and squaw might not have as much to offer.

mammoth especially if you love pow, they said mammoth would never make it as a resort because it got too much snow
