Mammoth or Park City???

Mammoths park isnt as good as park citys , but mammoth in Spring time is better than park city, soo if i were you if your going in the next 2 weeks go ski pow and ride park in utah as there is still pow there mammoth is all slush atm. If your going early next month go to mammoth casue there park gets way better in may

Well mammoth is REEEAAALY sick... but pc is sick too.... well seeing as i live in mammoth.. i choose mammoth

No man, I live in Utah this year, bu tused to live in Bishop. I went home and skied at mammoth and their park killed PC all year long without question

well, id rather ski mammoth than pc. but, if you live at pc you have like 4 other amazing mountains within 45min from you. mammoth is in the middle of nowhere. if you live at pc, an airport is 25min away, but you have to drive 3 hours from mammoth to reno to go to an airport. so id rather ski mammoth, but the convenience of living in the salt lake area makes it the better choice

yaya well i live in mammoth right now but my girl friend wants to move to park city next year but im just thinking its going to be hard to move from mammoth but i just wanted to see what you guys thought!!!! thanks

go to mammoth, unless you really like hitting 5 - 10 foot shity jumps and steppin on gay boxes while waiting for the 1 day a week the big park is actualy open for its 1 legit jump

Ive never been to PC but there park from what i have seen looks better than mammoths, mammoths park this year upuntill I left like 3 weeks ago wasnt that great, there was more shit on the sides of the runs than what was set up in the park, south parks jump line was dope but there were no original features it was all just tables and a few rails, mammoth needs to get mre creative, but I love mammoth the terrain there is awesome dragons tail on a pow day is off the hook... Id still rather go to utah right now as there is still pow there.

Or MN, at least you are skiing in what you could call a mountain range, albeit a shitty one. Our mountains are spawned from the bluffs formed by the Mississippi river, what rocky mountain folk would call 'foothills'

depends on the snow yr, mammoth, is small, not much to do, but pc is close to slc... yet from what i hear, not much goes down in saltlake... so idk, mammoth is close to other mtns in tahoe, yet so is parkcity... idk

park city's park is quite nice, but i haven't been there in a couple of years. however, im sure mammoths park is better. yet utah is way better. you can live in a city and ski some of the best shit in the world. while park city has good terrain, the canyons, powder mtn, brighton, solitude, and snowbird have fucking epic shit. and the snow quality is ridicolus. shit... i need to move back there.

These are the pros and cons I have personally experienced of both locations (slc-4 months, mammoth-3 months)

Mammoth

pros

amazing weather, amazing park, cool surrounding area(tons of sights to see in the spring), crazy level of skiing and riding, main park is like a 3 min lap, south park is the best medium park anywhere

cons

small town, need to make the drive to reno to fly, tahoe decently close, vons has free soup samples

pc

pros

good park but not as good as mammoth, close to major city w/ cheap housing, nearby urban stuff, airport, other mountains(with lifts) close

cons

not quite as perfect weather as mammoth

crowds

not as much terrain as mammoth(the canyons/ little cottonwood canyon have this though)

Over all, I prefer Mammoth for its atmosphere and all around sickness, pc sometimes just gave me bad vibes for some reason, If I were you, I would also consider North Lake Tahoe because it is somewhere between the two, with lots of mountains, sick parks at alpine, squaw(in the spring)etc and also some sick natural terrain, all with a weather pattern somewhere in between Utah and Mammoth.

tahoe decently close and soup samples are obviously pros not cons... my bad

Also Reno airport is pretty close to North Tahoe for another pro

mammoth's park is with out a doubt better. no question whatsoever. There is also a shit-ton of other terrain, and there is nothing interesting to ski in park city besides the mediocre park.

pc is near a whole bunch of other mts tho... like brighton and solitude and alta and snowbird and stuff....
