with all the snow that's been dumping over the past week they've moved opening day - new opening date is october 21st. with current snowfall it's projected that they'll have about 4-5 feet by the end of this week.

on one hand i'm stoked since they're getting so much snow, on the other i'm pissed cause i'm stuck here 6 hours away...

Yeah, I'm pissed too. Long drive for me. A whopping 5 minutes or so to the mtn. You can bet I'll be up there on the 21nd.

i hate living in southern california - where the shittest snowboarder will talk smack on skiers all day long and then proceed to land on his ass sliding a box (i have nothing against boarders, only ones who are complete assholes... which is about 90% of the snowboard population in so cal).

the only consolation i have is that i'm going up at the originally scedueled opening weekend (nov. 11th), but, dammit, i wanna ski NOW.

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon PDT Wednesday...

Snow levels near 7000 feet will drop to near 6000 feet by

early Wednesday morning. Total snow accumulations will be

6 to 12 inches above 6000 feet with 2 to 4 feet above 8000 feet

along the Sierra crest. Gusty southwest winds will accompany this

storm with near zero visibilities in blowing snow over the

passes and exposed upper elevations.

southern cali isnt mammoth. ther is about a 5-6 hour difference between so-cal and mammoth

Anyone got any pics of Mammoth today? They haven't updated their daily photo page.

I am so pissed, I could be going skiing this weekend, but my mom is coming down to visit from Portland. Guess I will have to wait until halloween.

no, i'm not talking about the people in mammoth - they're totally chill. i'm talking about the kids from so cal who come up for the weekend and think they're gods gift to snowsports (thus continually talking smack on skiers) but just sit in the middle of the in-runs all day and piss people off.

I wouldn't say all people at Mammoth are chill. There are some huge assholes here.

Man, Mammoth totally beats my expectations. Not only are they opening 20 days early, but their cat/park crew is out tonight building hits for the park. Someone caught some action going on in the park before the webcams shut off at 8pm.

i live in tahoe about two hours away

but kirkwood opens on saturday 45 minutes away i'm sooo stoked about all this snow
