For the first time in my life this feb vacation, my paretns argreed to having a ski vacation on the west coast for 6 or 7 days. but we have to chose a mountain in california cause after the 5 days on hill, we have to go to a film festival in Los Angles where my dad's movie plays.

I;ve never been skiing oustide the eastcoast, cept for mt. hood in the summer so i dont really know shit. Mammoth/ June Mtn came to mind right away, so unless i tell them otherwise that's were we'll go. I want to be able to ride powder/ bowls since it doesnt really exist on the icecoast and still hit some park. Does mammoth have any bowls or decent powder lines too? cause as much as i love jibbing I'm gona feel dumb after I come back and realize I've wasted my trip hiking rails. I was also looking at Northstar at Taoh and Sqauw. But northstar looked too much like standard mountain back on the east (normal tree-cut trails) so im not sure. Maybe im forgetting something.

mammoth

Hopefully I will be skiing the Big K in VT until January, and the other K in CA for the rest of the season.

Mammoth is cool but its kinda hit or miss on the whole powder. For the week I went there it was raining and icy for thte first half of the week then it got sunny for a few days then it dumped about 20 inches, so who knows. They have decent off-piste terrain but squaw terrain looks sicker to me.

We pay our debt sometimes.

If you go to squaw, you could take a run Jonny Moseley's run. Be careful, though, it's steep and you could get worked.

squaw

See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

Being from the east coast and having been to Mammoth and Squaw i will def say i had an amazing time at both places. I havent been to Mammoth for a few years so i think the park is better at Squaw, but u dont seem to be looking for park and i think MAmmoth has stepped up their park and overall is just a lil better so thats where i would go!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

Ok, squaw will provide better lines, mammoth better park. But if you want to ditch the attitude go to Alpine right next to squaw, basically the same. Now if you're really looking for pow and lines, kirkwood is the place, but it's further from tahoe. By the way, northstar and squaw are only 20 minutes apart.

ok...i ski at northstar...nothing too exciting...just a regular mountain. ive only heard good things about mammoth but squaw is awesome! squaw is huge and has plenty of bowls and lines and such. its a great place to go. i would pick squaw but ive never been to mammoth. kirkwood is also an awesome mountain. some of the steepest terrain in tahoe, its great. northstar = no.

Squaw will have better lines for sure..than both Mammoth and Northstar. Northstars park is probably a bit better terrain park wise than Squaws..while Mammoth most definitely owns both. But Squaw and Northstar are so close together, there is certainly no reason why you can't go to both? If you come to Tahoe you can hit up multiple awesome resorts, which will have some of the best lines out there. Dont forget Alpine Meadows too..10 mins fro Squaw, super awesome lines, but the park is the lesser of all 4 mountains.

that is quite jibtastic, sir.

'skiboards look horrible on rails, they do however looking amazing over 15 foot tables.'

if you are only looking for pow, fuck CA and go to alta... but if you are looking for mainly park, and a little big mtn, in CA, then mammoth...

Siver Cartel.

High Society.

Scott USA.

Enom Headwear.

Sidewinder Sports.

Go and stay in North Tahoe. That way you can ski several mountains for the whole 5 days you're here. I say Squaw, Alpine, Sugar Bowl, and drive down for Kirkwood and maybe Heavenly. All the other resorts suck ass unless you want park and shit, but why bother? You can ski that in the east.

thanks for advice but i think my parnets already made reservations at mammoth. w/e ill just get nastier in the park

Stay at South Lake and plan to drive 45 minutes a day. Then you can ski Squaw, Alpine, Kirkwood and Heavenly. Plus the night life is great in south Lake.

mammoth just because its my future home mountain

Still no snow on the east coast.

I don't do yay. I just like the way it smells.

yeah, Alpine's park is lesser of those other 4 mountains? Today 12/18/2004. Does any other mountain around Tahoe have a line up like this?

Tis is only the beginning of the new parks at Alpine. A truck load of new rails is only a few days out and the superpipe by new years.

damn the park at alpine looks awesome right now, i know the one at sugar bowl is terrible but kirkwood is suppose to be looking real good as well. to stay on topic though, i havent been to squaw in some time now mostly because it costs a fortune but i have never been disapointed with kirkwood except for its lack of express lifts.
