Damn, beat us at Boreal by a couple days. Oh well, look for Boreal to be the first open in Tahoe!
 
sad, i was hoping i would get to move back before they opened.
Guess that dream is over. Maybe December.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKbitches. my hill doesn't even have snow on the top and that's at 6,000 ft. but the eastcoast can suck it come December January February and March when we get powder every week.

Dunno if you'd know this but do you know if we still get those giant trial maps with MVP's this year if we pick the passes up. I never sent my waiver in so i never got the packet mailed to me... I want one!

Back to topic, more lifts (2, 3, ect) should be opening this week and there's a strong possibility for the top to open this weekend. I'm so happy right now.
 
Opener at Mammoth fucking kick indescribeable amounts of ass.

Never in my life would i have imagined skiing pow on an opener. Rock drops, cliffs, trees, all fair game. There was only about 200 people out and chair 1 was the only thing open but it was enough.

Don't even compare last years opener with this years. If you are thinking of coming, COME!!!!!

This year the storm over the weekend dumped plenty of snow. It was a wet heavy storm so all the snow that fell stuck where it landed and didn't blow away and create wind lips. The PERFECT BASE.

I took my god pow skis and barely got any scratches on the base. Yeah there were things to watch out for, but the sounds of p-tex on rock was few and far between.

Sorry, no pics. I was to busy having a blast. My legs are worked.

Tomorrow I go out again.

Oh, and I was on the 7th chair up. :shiteatinggrin:

Big ups to Eric for dropping multiple rock drops under chair one skiers right of Potato rock. All day I saw you from the lift and everyone on the lifts was pumped on you chargin hard.
 
No park as of yesterday. They were blowing all in main though. I think they were trying to get a little more snow before putting up any features. All the jibs were still along the side of the road coming up the hill.

Shouldn't be long. I am sure by the weekedn there will be something around for us all to hit.

I got new skis coming in the mail today. Thought it would be longer before I could use them and now I still don't have any binders to mount on them!!! AHHHHH!!!
 
yeah....I have my dumonts and guns just gathering dust and waiting. It's gonna be a test on my knee the first time I ski this season. Had micro fracture surgery in may. I'm stoked none the less.
 
Thank you for proving I was correct. It's irrelevant to you or any of ns but this dude I know sends me a message and posts a bulletin on myspace saying how the whole mountain opened on the first day and I told him broadway was the only thing open and he kept telling me how his friends in mammoth told him the whole mountain was open. What a fucking dipshit. Yeah that sounds like a fucking amazing day to open to. You're soooooo lucky.
 
No worries man. Whoever the kid was that tried to telll you the whole mountain was open was full of shit.

Yeah there was plenty of terrain for an opener, but only chair 1 was spinning so that definitely limits accessible terrain.
 
I got out on the hill today and it was fucking sick. So stoked right now. I'll be back out tomorrow.

Chairlift Update:

Face Lift Express (Chair 3) opens tomorrow (Thurs)

Upper Panorama Gondola and Discover Chair (11) will open friday afternoon sometime.

I'll be skiing off the top of the mountain on Friday.

and as of today, there were about 4 boxes and 3 lift tower rails set up on Forest Trail Park. I also just heard that Unbound Main will be opening this weekend. This season start is sooooooooo much better than last season.

Hell yeah it is....I remember only skiing a few trails on blown snow at the end of November. Hope this good start is a good sign.

You know, I was considering changing my status on facebook to in a relationship purely for that reason. But then I was considering applying for the gogo dancer position on mammothtimes and realized no one wants a taken gogo girl. But then I realized no one in their right mind wants to be a go go dancer in Mammoth.
After a lot of thought, I have decided to leave my status as single. I will be avoiding foreigners, tourists, ex boyfriends and management in regards to that statement.
