Mammoth-Hostels, Campgrounds, etc.?

Some friends and I are planning a trip to mammoth in june, where is some cheap lodging near mammoth?

Also, will june still be open at that point? Which should we go to if it is?

Shady rest campground thats pretty cheap mmmmm and I think there are some other camp grounds down the road from that but for hostels im not sure of any cheap ones
