Im moving to mammoth on the 1st and it would be rad to meet some people to chill or ski with. Im not too familiar with the mountain so skiing with somebody who knows whats up would be sweet.

Oh also anybody that lives out there, anything i should know? Where are the best places to look for a job, eat, etc.?

You are choosing to move out here at a rather random time, especially if you don't all ready have a job lined up...You can check with the mountain, but I really don't think you'll have much luck there. Better off searching the mammoth times or the sheet for employment. resturant job might be your best bet. or you could get a job shoveling snow, we'be already gotten over ten feeet the past few days with more on the way, and everyone and everything is buried

Everything else seems to be adequately answered...
Eat: Angel's (fried mac'n'cheese - it's delicious), the only thai food place in town is actually pretty decent, little pricey for thai, but I'm also thai food snob who's gotten amazing goodness for $5 for a giant plate of food, I used to just go to Vons & buy pasta and cook tho because it gets expensive eating out all the time, and and I forgot: Whiskey Creek during happy hour - good appetizers for 50% off (as well as booze but don't know if you're 21+...?)
OH! You could look into Ski School for a job, although the weather is gnarly right now during the holidays they usually need extra people. I did this for a little while at the end of the season and LOVED it, but the weather was great and you get tipped ok and I really enjoyed teaching little kids how to ski, it's also not super hard/stressful if you're just starting out. If you aren't patient though you might want to do/look into something else.

The thai place she is talking about is called Thai'd Up. It's great.

Whiskey Creek happy hour is dope. I think they just changed the hours for happy hour to 4pm-5:30pm daily and anytime there's football on (sunday day and night, monday night).

I think the bar service there sucks though, I know many people wouldn't agree with me, but whatever.

Angel's fried mac and cheese is delicous especially if you top it offf with sriracha, and the Stove is just about the best place in town to get breakfast

Cool guys thanks! Yea I dont have a job lined up..kind of worried but im sending resumes out and im gonna be hitting it hard asking around when i get over there.

screw resumes, you gotta hustle in person at this point and just sell yourself

steele is right - thai'd up is legit as fuggggg

I think rentals at canyon lodge is still hiring some part time stuff, not positive though. But the sheet and mammoth times are your best bet to find a job. Hot chicks is where it is at for food, its in the shopping center that mammoth sporting goods is in.
