I heard that 4 people died in 5 days in the mammoth park or some ridiculous thing like that. Does anybody kno if there is truth to that?
 
i'm not positive on all of them. one was a ski patroller who was caught in an avy like 60 miles away, another was a kid that overshot a jump in the park, and.. i'm not positive. your best bet would be to search for it online.
 
I used to work at a resort for a few winters, you wouldn't believe how often people die, half the time it's really stupid shit. Some guy had a heart attack and fell off the life, another guy was chewing bubblegum, crashed and choked on it and died he was like 22. Most people hit trees n stuff though.
 
no it waf 3 on the wknd one a few days later while in intensive care from crashing that wknd. i was up there and watched one guy go. ski patroll was given him cpr and i looked over rite as the ski partoll stood up and just shook his head. one guy overshot and broke his neck. one guy skied off a cliff. one ran into a tree (he was the one who died in icu) and some other guy in the park. i was so freaked out about having to race on two of those days.
 
im in mammoth and im not sure if its true but durin the holidays we get a lot of accidents but believe me wen i say its nothin like doin a season in europe. in my season in france, 55 ppl died in a resort in 6 months. Uttery ridiculous, but the terrain is not bombed to the extent of mammoth's and the terrain is VAST. the mountain is much bigger over there but ppl sue the crap out of ppl over here, that doesnt happen in europe. Obviously your takin risks bein on a mountain and skiin it, live with it, its your choice. Why sue the hell out of someone for it. Its nature and your chosin to meddle with it!
 
wow thats real intense hearing about 5 deaths in that short of a time period....and to invader46..im sorry about ur uncle

today at smuggs i got owned by a mini ave. i was to the left of sterling rock amidst he cliffs and chutes. i dropped into a chute and pop turned onto it. i was in powder to above my knees and then i started sinking and a wall of snow came up to my neck and crushed me. i got shot forward and was out of it. it stopped and then i eventually got up. my friend was there so it was ok if i waa actually stuck. so yeah i just pop turned onto it and huge slab of pow that iw as riding on/past collapsed on me.
