Mammoth closing this weekend

So since mammoth got bought out they've gone all corporate like the rest of the world and are closing after this coming monday for the year. suckkkkkkkky.

They just built the spring pipe too

guess it's just hood and whistler to the rescue

here's your official word

"It's official folks, due to warm temperatures and quickly melting

snowpack Mammoth Mountain announced this morning that we will close for

skiing and riding after operation on Monday, May 26. Come on up for one

last weekend of fun on the snow! The extended weekend will be one of

the few where guests can ski and golf in the same weekend (Sierra Star

opens one week early on Friday, May 23).

It's true, March/April/May have been super warm and zero precip; however the snow-pack is nowhere near mammoth traditional closing status

in other words^ the summer camp we were going to got closed down due to the mountain wanting to make more money on their own camp that would be nowere near as cool as this one. but oh right they didnt make another camp they just closed down the big easy. shit sucks

They closed on Memorial Day last year. Same as this year.

thats a bummer but in all reality you guys has it good. PC closed april 14 and there was enough snow to ski lower mountain until like 2 weeks ago. maybe even longer. all i know is i am happy we still have snow that we can hike!

Haha, Alpental WA closes the same day as Mammoth this year. We had a pretty good year...

A-Basin has enough snow to ski till August....they close June 30th though.

They have real low snow...that is the problem, not the managment. Once those rocks pop through it beats up their equipment and salting uses up mad cat hours. Look at that pic...anyone who knows mammoth knows how low that snow pack is.

They do their best to stay open late...I have more memorial day weekends and july 4th there then I can remember...usual mem weekend is top to bottom full mountain skiing.

Get in good with someone on their crew...this time of year is when the MONSTER special hits and random jibs pop up al overl
