is it possible to take a normal pair of skis and bend the back tips up making them twintip? i have an old pair of skis that i dont use and i thought i might use them for urban, rock skiing, fucking around in places with no snow etc..

theres a picture on here of some guy doing a summer set up on a baseball field and he did that to some skis he bought at the goodwill, find that picture and he says how he made them he used a blowtorch i think.

blow torches just melts a bunch of stuff. boiling it iv heard works. but yea, theres a thread on this already.

Not a blowtorch, a paintstripping gun. Or boiling is meant to work too. Then wedhe the tails under a door and prop up the tips with something , gradually getting higher so it's gentle, even pressure bending them. Then rivit the tails because they'll delaminate. You'll probably need to remount the bindings too because they'll be way too far back.

u gotta use a hot air gun and just compress it into something and let it sit in the compressor until it cools

I've only seen it done one way: Hold the tails over top of boiling water, not it it, and then bend them under a door frame until you reach the desired height. Riveting isn't that necessary, seeing as how they will just be beaters.

Thats how Kris Ostness returned to skiing... by turning the tail on his skis. Soon after that line sponsored him and made the Ostness Dragon... the beginning of twintips.

when will you realize that it's not worth it to try to make your skis into twins. Either go out and buy a pair or if you have real balls you don't need twins just huck it anywayz. It could hurt a bit though

whats the problem with trying if iv got an old fuck around pair that i dont use anyway... its not like im going to use them seriously for my everyday skis
