Usually I just buy ripstop nylon from whatever fabric store

I live in bumfuck Maine so I probably need to order fabric, what are those seem securers in the lzrd video, and how common is insulation/necessary

So idk what a seam securer is but insulation is good if you’re tryna make a legit pair of snowpants. Otherwise if you’re making like wind pants, a layer of nylon and then maybe a heavy cotton under layer works for me.

Really any brand does it for me. Maybe I just get lucky lol. sometimes I just use a sleeping bag because it’s insulated and really good quality fabric.

Yo! That is seam tape I use, it waterproofs all the seams and the little holes a sewing machine makes when it punctures the thread. The Ultrex fabric that was listed above is pretty good, I search for 3 layer waterproof breathable fabric (with a membrane, not just a coating) and then test it when I get it to make sure it is actually waterproof.

Try different tension settings on scrap fabric that might fix your issue
