Is it possible to make rails or boxes with old skis or friends snowboards?I have a few old skis which I feel if I flipped them over and took the bindings off that I could make a good rail or box, is this possible/good idea?

i have been trying but my friends wont help me jack them!but yea i could use my hammer and mchammer them

Try this, I haven't, but it could work.

-Rip the edges out of these skis and snowboards

-Cut the nose and tail sections off, leaving you with a plank of edgeless base

-Countersink and screw the planks to the top of a wooden box frame, this will flatten out the camber

If you had like 2 snowboards, you could cut out 2 rectangular sections out of each deck, leaving you with 4 perfectly shaped pieces of box topsheet material. Countersink and screw and I think you'd be good to go. You might have to shim the narrower parts of the board profile to get a flat sliding surface though. If you're cutting sections out, this would also eliminate the task of ripping the edges out.

Hope this made sense, it's honestly the best idea I could come up with.

you wouldn't have to remove the edges completely, you might run into some integrity problems because the base might peel from where the edge used to be, you can just grind them to a forty five with an angle grinder

Yeah jacking pvc pipes... dope.
Why don't you just go buy some at home depot. Wood and pvc really isn't that expensive. Or shit you could probably go to a junk yard and find wood and pvc.

Look harder, there HAS to be a shop in your town that sells them, pretty much every construction project (houses, roads) requires large PVC tubes.

How far are you from Poughkeepsie NY ??? I have a Metal rails set-up at my house, got truff too for summer set-ups too. Flat-Down about 16ft, or we spin it around for a up-flat, a 30ft DuB barrel, and a 15ft flat that's really high off the ground.

you'd need a shit tonne of skis to make anything big enough to be worth the effort of hitting it. It's an alright idea in theory but I don't think it's gonna be huge success for you

You ever go to Catamount ?? Nice lol park, with a chair that runs right up to the top of the park, you can do park runs all day. It's quiet there too, alot of people go to Jiminy.. Matt you can take 22 almost all the way there, it rt23 and make a right, its 3 mins up the road.
